비오는 날엔 영국식 피쉬앤칩스

Eat My Pasty, British Fish & Chips

일요일 오후 2시경이 되자 비가 오기 시작했다. 우린 파나마시티비치에서 이미 놀만큼 놀았던 상태여서 비오는 날씨가 아쉽진 않았고 오히려 다른 모습의 파나마시티비치를 볼 수 있어서 좋았다.

It started raining around 2 PM on Sunday. We already enjoyed swimming in the ocean a lot, rainy weather didn't let us down but gave us a different scenic.

윗층 발코니가 지붕 역할을 해줘서 비를 맞지 않고 앉아서 비오는 모습을 감상할 수도 있었다.

We could sit on the balcony in the rain because there was another balcony above us.

비가 와서 인지 사람들이 수영장에 별로 없길래 이른 저녁을 먹고 수영장에 내려가기로 했는데, 막상 수영장에 도착했을 때엔 다들 같은 생각을 했는지 갑자기 많은 사람들이 몰려들은 상태였다. ㅋㅋ 비오는 날씨에 야외 수영장에서 배영하면서 하늘을 바라보는 모습은 또 하나의 힐링이 되었다. 그렇게 1시간 정도 넘게 수영장에서 놀고 돌아왔었다.

There weren't many people in the pool. So we decided to go there after dinner. When we got there, suddenly there were many people in the pool. Probably we all thought that was the perfect timing to go to the pool. Anyways, it was nice to do backstroke looking up the sky in the rain. We swam about for an hour in the pool.

비가 세차게 내리려는 기세길래 거실로 돌아와 창문을 통해 바라보니 엄청난 먹구름이 몰려들은 상태였다.

I came back inside and saw the giant dark clouds through the window.

바다 지평선 쪽에도 흩뿌려지는 빗줄기를 확연히 볼 수 있었다.

It rained heavily even in the ocean.

약간 빗줄기가 약해졌을 때, 남편이 그렇게 먹고 싶어했던 영국식 피쉬앤칩스를 사먹으러 Eat My Pasty 로 향했다. 마침 월요일은 휴무라서 일요일이었던 그 날 꼭 먹어줘야 했던...

When the weather got better, Skylar wanted to go to Eat My Pasty -British Fish & Chips restaurant- since it was going to be closed next day.

내일 체크아웃에 앞서 사용하지 않았던 물건들은 미리 차 트렁크로 옮겨 두었다. 우리가 아마존에서 텐트형 파라솔을 샀는데 잘 작동하는 지 체크해보지 않고 그냥 와서 혹시나 불량일 경우에 시부모님이 비치 파라솔을 빌려주셨었다. 다행이 우리 파라솔은 완전하고 많은 그늘을 만들어줘서 너무 좋았다.

We moved some stuff ahead of next day's check out. We bought a tent-umbrella on Amazon, we didn't check if it worked well or not. So we needed a Plan B. My parent's in law let us borrow their beach umbrella. Fortunately our umbrella was fine and it made a lot of shades as well.

여기가 우리가 묵었던 Origin at Seahaven의 주차장이다. 우리가 차를 대었던 바로 뒷편 입구에 엘리베이터가 있어서 아주 편히 이동할 수 있었다.

This is the condo's parking lot. Right behind where we parked our car, there was an elevator right after the entrance. It was very easy for us to move back and forth.

비를 뚫고 도착한 8분 거리의 Eat My Pasty. 스카일러 말로는 옐프에서 제일 좋은 후기를 가진 파나마시티 맛집이라던데 난 워낙 기름진 음식을 좋아하는 편이 아니라서 그리 기대하진 않았다.

It took only 8 mins to get to Eat My Pasty. Skylar was so excited to try their food. He said this restaurant is the best in PCB. I wasn't very excited because I'm not very into greedy food.

포장해온 피시앤칩스. 남편은 튀긴 대구살과 감자튀김 & 코울슬로, 나는 대굿살 샌드위치를 주문했다.

We brought food to our room. Skylar ordered fried cod, chips (fries) & cole slaw, I got a fish sandwich made with cod.

먹어본 후기로는 너무 기름졌다. 나는 일단 저런 두꺼운 번을 안좋아한다. 말랑말랑하고 얇은 번이 좋음. 그리고 대굿살이 꽤나 두꺼워서 그냥 생선살 맛만 나는..? 굳이 샌드위치로 먹는 건 아닌 것 같았다. 남편은 자기꺼 먹어보고 인생 피시앤칩스라며 극찬에 극찬을 더했다. 이게 바로 취향차이~

I didn't like the sandwich very much. At first, I don't like that kind of buns. They are too thick. Secondly, the fish was so thick, it didn't have flavors. It didn't have to be a "sandwich". Skylar loved his food. He said it was the best fried fish. We are so different.

주문할 때 종업원이 "디저트는 뭐로 하시겠어요?'"라는 질문에 넘어가 메뉴판을 보고 후식을 급히 골랐다. 그것은 바로 복숭아 과일파이 (피치 코블러). 이 날 안그래도 엄청난 양의 찐새우를 먹은 상태여서 후식은 도저히 무리다 하고 다음 날로 미뤘다.

They asked my husband "what do you want for a dessert?", Skylar didn't even think about but he couldn't help looking at the menu and ordered a peach cobbler. We already had such a big lunch (steamed seafood feast) so we couldn't eat the dessert.

어제 남긴 피치코블러 먹기 ^^; 이거 정말 강추인게 복숭아가 실하게 들어있고 파이 반죽 두께도 완벽하고 잘 구어졌다. 순삭해버림..

eating the peach cobbler lol. It was sooooo good. I liked it. It had big pieces of peach and the dough was well baked and the thickness was perfect.

디저트를 사면 아마 아이스크림이 같이 오는 것 같았다. 공짜 아이스크림도 냠냠 :P

Ice cream came along with peach cobbler. I finished this too.
