사실은 더 파인트 샵이라고 아이스크림 박물관을 가려고 했는데 도저히 찾을 수가 없어 인스타그램에 들어가보니 뉴욕 지점은 끝났다고 공지가 되어 있었다. 그러다 우연찮게 테슬라 사인이 눈에 들어왔다.

We were heading to The Pint Shop which was ice cream museum in Chelsea, we couldn't find it where google said it was! I checked out the official Instagram and it said NYC branch is closed. So we decided to go to The High Line right away and I spotted the Tesla store.

스카일러는 테슬라 광팬이어서 내가 "저기 테슬라 매장이 있는데 가볼래?" 하니까 엄청 좋아했다. ㅋㅋ 생각지도 못한 곳에서 발견한 거라 더 그랬다.

Skylar is a huge Tesla fan. So I asked him if he wanted to go to the Tesla store. It was nice to find a Tesla store when we didn't expect.

매장에는 테슬라 모델 3대가 있었고 가장 비싼? 모델인 테슬라 모델 S부터 차 문이 멋지게 열리던 모델 X와 조금 더 합리적인 가격대를 가진 테슬라 모델 3 이렇게 전시되어 있었다.

There were 3 Tesla model displayed in the store from the most expensive model -Model S- to the more reasonable model -Model 3-.

우리가 테슬라 3를 둘러보고 있을 때 매장 직원이 와서 몇가지 질문을 했는데 딱 들어도 스카일러가 테슬라에 엄청 관심이 많다는 걸 알 수 있었을 거다. 그 분이 우리보고 한번 차 안에도 타보라고 하셔서 좋다고 했다. 차 문고리도 일반 차처럼 튀어나와있지 않아서 여는 방법이 달랐다.

We were looking at a Tesla model 3, a Tesla employee talked to Skylar and everybody could have told Skylar is so interested in Tesla cars. He asked us if we want to hop on the car. Even the car handle works differently from normal cars.

남자 직원이 동승해서 여러가지 기능에 대해 설명해줬다. 뉴욕으로부터 우리 집까지 테슬라 충전소를 보여주기도 했고 에어컨 바람 방향 조정, 차 미러 조정 같은 것도 다 이 스크린에서 해결이 됐다.

He explained every little detail about the car. He showed Tesla charging stations along the way from New York to our house, how to adjust air conditioner and even car mirrors in the screen.

테슬라에선 대중화를 위해 차 가격대를 점점 내리고 있는 추세라하는데 어쩌면 우리도 테슬라 다음 모델 정도는 살 수 있지 않을까 생각해봤다. 자율 주행 모드가 너무 탐나는 데다가 차 디자인 자체가 미래지향적이라 나도 마음에 쏙 들었다.

He said Tesla is trying to popularize their cars by lowering the price. Maybe we could afford their next model. I really like their auto pilot function and it looks so futuristic!

테슬라 입구에서 기념사진도 한장 찍고 하이라인파크로 향했다.

I took a photo of Skylar at the entrance and we headed to The High Line.

작년에 휘트니뮤지엄에만 갔다가 시간이 없어 하이라인파크는 걸어보지 못했는데 이번 여행에서는 할 수 있었다.

We came here for Whitney Museum last year and didn't have time to walk on the park.

하이라인 초입이 가장 예쁘다고 해서 조금만 걸어보기로 했다. ㅋㅋ 날씨가 뜨거웠기 때문에...

I heard that the beginning of the High Line is the pretties so we wanted to walk a bit. It was hot at the time.

하이라인파크는 옛날 철도길로 사용되던 공간을 도시재생의 일환으로 자연공원으로 탈바꿈하여 관광명소가 되었다.

It was used as railroad back in time and transformed into a trail park. It attracts many tourists now.

벤치에 앉아 잠시 쉬었다가 디저트를 먹으러 가기로 했다.

We sat on a bench for a minute and were going to eat some dessert.

하이라인파크에서 더 파인트 샵이 있었던 곳으로 내려오니 나처럼 전시가 끝난 지 몰랐던 분들이 문 앞을 서성이고 있었다.

We took stairs down and there were people in front of The Pint Shop not knowing it was closed like me.
