미국 버밍햄에서 먹는 쉑쉑버거 Shake Shack, Birmingham, Alabama

회사 업무상 연휴 때가 피크로 가장 바빠서 스트레스를 엄청 받고 있었는데 스카일러가 뭐 먹고 싶은 거 있냐고 해서 쉑쉑버거라고 했더니 흔쾌히 가자고 했다. 그래서 즉흥적으로 오게 된 알라바마 버밍햄 쉑쉑버거!

Our company's business is at its peak since it's around the holidays, I have extra work to do. Skylar noticed that I was being stressed and asked me What I want to eat. I said "Shake Shack Burger" not expecting him to drive me that far. He was okay with it so we impulsively went to Shake Shack in Birmingham.

쉑쉑버거는 뉴욕에서 유명한 햄버거 집이다. 나는 오리지널에 싱글패티, 남편은 스모크 쉑버거 그리고 감자튀김을 주문했다.

Shake Shack is a popular burger chain in New York. I ordered the original with a single patty and my husband got the smoked shack with double patties and fries.

We waited for 5 minutes.

뭔가 이상함을 감지한 스카일러. 두 버거 모양이 너무 비슷한데? 알고보니 스모크 쉐이크를 오리지널로 만들었던 것. 바로 주방에 말해서 받은 건 그냥 먹거나 포장해가라고 새로 만들어준다고 해서 우연찮게 공짜 버거 생겼다. ㅋㅋ

When we got our food, Skylar noticed something wasn't right. The two burgers looked alike! They made the original burger for Skylar too. He let the kitchen know so they offered him the burger for free and made him a new Smoked Shack burger.

그렇게 제대로 된 버거를 받고 신난 스카일러. 뉴욕여행때 쉑쉑버거 가려고 했는데 다른 음식 먹다보니 웃기게도 한번을 가볼 기회가 없었다. 가까운 곳에 생겨 드디어 처음 쉑쉑버거를 먹어본 남편은 스모크쉑을 시켜서겠지만 느끼하다고 했다. ㅋㅋ

He was excited to try his "right" burger. I wanted Skylar to try Shake Shack during our New York trip but we didn't have a chance to go. This Shake Shack recently opened in Birmingham.

나는 예전에 강남 쉑쉑버거 처음 생겼을 때 맛이랑 비교하면 이건 정말 다운그레이드된 거라는 걸 느낄 수 있었다. 여전히 패티는 너무 맛있지만 뭔가 부족한 느낌의 쉑쉑버거였음

I mean the patty was still good but it wasn't as impressive as the Shake Shack burgers in Gang Nam when I first tried. (Maybe the reason why the first burger was sooo good was because that they brought New York Shake Shack crews to the Korean branch for the opening.)
