VR 게임 키트는 여러 브랜드가 있지만 그 중에서도 밸브인덱스라는 VR기기가 제일 성능이 좋다고 한다. 스카일러는 선주문을 두달 반 정도 전에 해서 저번 주에 배송을 받을 수 있었다. 요즘 코로나바이러스 때문에 집에서 즐길 수 있는 오락용 VR 게임의 수요가 급증하면서 주문하는 것 조차 쉽지가 않다고 한다. 스카일러는 게임도 좋아하고 컴퓨터 조립도 좋아하는 타입이라, 이 밸브인덱스의 VR 성능을 최고로 이용할 수 있는 성능 좋은 조립식 컴퓨터를 이미 가지고 있다.
Valve Index is the best available VR kit. Skylar had to pre-order one about 2 and half months ago. All VR headsets (not only Valve Index) were sold out because of Corona Virus. More people wanted more VR and less were being produced. To use this headset to its fullest, you need almost the best PC. (Skylar has one??) Valve Index has the highest resolution and highest refresh rate.
밸브인덱스 VR 기기 박스 구성 모습이다. 위쪽 가장자리에는 두 컨트롤러가 있고 중간에는 헤드셋, 그리고 아래에는 스테이션이라고 VR 유저 동작을 트래킹할 수 있게 해준다. 이 스테이션을 방 구석 벽 위쪽에 설치를 했다. 헤드셋은 케이블이 길게 달려있어서 계속 충전이 되는 상태다. 또 헤드셋 바로 뒷면, 얼굴이 닿는 부분은 뗏다 붙힐 수 있어서 필요시에는 빼서 닦거나 물로 씻어낼 수 있다.
Skylar said this was the best packaging he ever saw. On top, there are two controllers for both hands, in the middle, there is a headset and on the bottom, there are two base stations that track the headset and controllers. We placed these two stations in the corners of the room high on the wall. The headset itself has one cable for display USB and power. The face gasket is magnetic and it comes off whenever you want to wash it.
스카일러 말로는 이 밸브인덱스의 컨트롤러는 모든 손가락의 움직임 트래킹이 가능하다고 한다. 또 아래 선같은게 있어서 개인의 손 사이즈에 맞게 크기를 조절할 수 있다. 컨트롤러는 무선 형식이라 한번 풀로 충전하면 8시간까지 사용 가능하다고 한다.
It's the only controller with full finger tracking. It has good vibration. It is really adjustable for different hand size. These controllers are wireless. They are rechargable. People say they last upto 8 hours with full charge.
VR games....
스카일러는 지금까지 몇 가지의 가상현실게임 앱을 구입했는데 The Lab, Table Tennis, Beat Saber 그리고 Half-life:Alyx라는 게임이 있다. 아직 마지막 알릭스라는 게임은 해보지 않은 이유가 이게 제일 최고라는 평이 많아서 아껴두고 있다. 나랑 스카일러랑 제일 좋아하는 게임은 바로 비트세이버라고 리듬 게임? 같은 건데, 두 컨트롤러가 레이저광선검처럼 보이고 앞으로 달려드는 리듬 박스들을 일정 방향에 맞춰 잘라주는 거다. ㅎㅎ 너무 재밌어서 하루종일 해서 몸이 뻐근해짐 ㅠㅠㅋㅋ 스카일러 말로는 비트세이버만 하려고 VR 기기 사도 후회없을 거라던데 사실일듯!
Skylar has bought a few games which are The Lab(free), Table Tennis(paid), Beat Saber(paid), and Half-life: Alyx(comes for free with the Index). He hasn't played Alyx yet because he wants to get used to the VR before playing THE BEST game. Skylar and I have been playing Beat Saber since we got this VR kit and we both really love the game! He said it would be worth it to buy a VR headset just to play Beat Saber.
