예전에는 내 마음대로 대충 블로그를 해서 그만큼 자주 업로드도 하고 그랬는데, 지금 보니 한 포스팅에 너무 많은 시간이 들어가고 잘 하려는 부담감때문에 내 솔직한 감정을 표현하기보다는 그저 사실 나열밖에는 하지 못하고 있었다는 걸 알게 되었다. ㅠㅠ 그래서 대충 쓰더라도.....(대충 쓰려고 노력해야하다니..) 자주 자주 올려서 나중에 이런 감정을 느꼈었구나 하고 알 수 있도록 기록해보려고 한다.

I used to post more often before, now it seems to take more time and effort to post so it takes determination even to start. I realized because of the pressure, I hadn't been honest to write about my emotions but only describe what happened. So I am going to stop being a perfectionist and try to post more often so I can look at old posts to see how I felt in the past.

벨라 이야기 How's Bella doing?

벨라가 워낙 역동적이라 사진 찍기가 쉬운 게 아니기도 하고, 눈물이 많이 고이는 아메숏 특징 때문에 사진을 찍어도 잘 나오지 않아서 그간 벨라 포스팅을 미루어 온 것이다. ㅠㅠ 그래도 벨라 인스타그램에는 거의 매일 근황을 올리고 있으니 관심 있으신 분들은 팔로우 하시면 될 듯

It's not easy to take good pictures of Bella. She moves so fast and she's got watery eyes because of her flat face. So I couldn't post only about her for a while. But if you're interested in Bella, you can see more photos on her Instagram.

벨라는 다음 주 금요일에 중성화 수술을 받기로 되어 있다. 애기였던 시절이 바로 어제 같은데 벌써 중성화할 시기가 다가오다니 새삼스레 시간이 빨리 지나가는 걸 느끼고 있다. ㅠㅠ

She is scheduled to get spayed next Friday. I feel like she's still a kitten, so I can't believe it's time for her to get fixed!

양념치킨 누들..? Fried Chicken Noodle

나랑 스카일러가 점심으로 종종 먹는 아시안 음식점에서 새로운 메뉴가 나왔다고 해서 시도를 해봤는데 사진은 아주 그럴싸.. 먹어봤을 때 맛은? 흠... 밀가루가 엄청 두껍고 눅눅한데다 저 양념과 면에 베어있는 양념이랑 따로 따로 논다. 이거 참 이상한 조합이라서 한번 포스팅해봄...ㅋㅋㅋ

I tried this new dish from our favorite Asian restaurant. It did look good but the taste wasn't good! The batter was too thick and soggy. And the sauce of the fried chicken wasn't good with the noodle's sauce. It was such a bizarre combination.

팬트리 만들기 Pantry Project

우리 집은 정말 다 좋은데 식료품 저장실인 팬트리가 딱히 없다. 그래서 세탁실은 팬트리처럼 쓰기 위해 이케아에서 스테인레스 선반을 주문해 세탁기와 건조기 위 놀고있는 공간을 활용해보기로 했다.

I love everything about my house but only one thing I wished my house had was a pantry. We are going to put some shelves above our dryer and washer in the laundry room. So I ordered some stainless shelves from Ikea.

세탁기 건조기 사진 올리는 김에 올리는 우리의 세탁실 모습 :) 특히 은은하게 빛나는 전등이 마음에 든다. 나중에 싱크대 앞에는 추가 선반 및 거울이 달린 수납장을 달아볼 생각이다.

This is what our laundry room looks like. I love the light the most particularly. I am going to put some more shelves above this sink and a mirror cabinet later.

안타깝게도 알라바마 주에는 이케아가 없어서 예전에 배송했을 때 배송료를 상당히 많이 지불했던 것으로 기억하는데 이제는 이런 소형 물품을 주문하면 단돈 9달러로 배송을 시킬 수가 있다. 내가 고른 건 그룬드탈 선반으로 확장형 선반이다. 길이를 조정할 수 있어서 고른 제품. 못이 포함되지 않아서 따로 주문해야 했다.

Unfortunately, we don't have Ikea in Alabama. When I ordered furniture from Ikea, I remember I paid a lot for the shipping. But now the shipping price got lowered. So I only paid 9$ for this shipping. I ordered GRUNDTAL shelves. It's expandable so I can adjust the length. I ordered screws because they don't come with this shelves.

조립하는 내내 주위를 떠나지 않던 귀염둥이 벨라. 선반은 모두 조립해두었고 이제 무사히 달기만 하면 되는데 이게 제일 큰 문제다. 아직 도전해보지 못했음......ㅋㅋㅋ

Bella kept me company the whole time I was assembling the shelves. They are now ready to be put up! That's the most difficult part. We haven't tried yet..

티제이맥스 하울(?) Shopping at TJ Maxx

스카일러가 양복 사이즈를 재야하는데 마땅한 양복점이 근처에 없어서 대신 가보기로 했던 티제이맥스. 거기서 정장 자켓 하나도 찾지 못했지만 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 나는 신나게 쇼핑을 하고 옴. 우리가 간 날이 발렌타인데이여서 그런지 괜찮은 물품이 엄청 많았다.

Skylar needed to know what size of suits he needs to wear. We don't have fancy suit shops here so we went to TJ Maxx instead. We didn't see ANY suit jackets there but I had very fun shopping lol. They had many good items on the day we went. Maybe it was because it was Valentines day?

이스터가 아직 오기 전인데 벌써부터 이스터 관련 물품들이 많았다. 내가 찾은 건 이 앙증맞은 토끼 그림의 컵과 작은 접시들 ㅠㅠㅠ 특히 저 접시는 가격도 완전 착했다.

There's still a long time til Easter. But there were already many Easter items at TJ Maxx! I bought these cute plates and cup with bunny painting.

심지어 빌레로이보흐 디너 접시도 발견했는데 각 9달러 씩으로 아마존에 검색해보니 정가는 41달러였다. 무려 1/4 가격으로 득템한 셈. 보면 볼 수록 더 예쁜 클래식한 디자인의 접시라 정말 마음에 든다. 발렌타인 디너 파스타를 담아서 사용했는데 정말 잘한 결정이었음 ㅠㅠ

I even found these Villeoy & Boch dinner plates. It was only 9 dollars each. The regular price on Amazon was 41$ per plate. I really like the classic design. It was a good decision.

그리고 게스트 화장실용으로 고른 핑크색 인어무늬 수건들. 세가지 다른 사이즈로 독특한 무늬에 좋은 퀄리티 수건이라 샀는데 사고 나니, 남편이 더 좋아하는 수건이 되었다.

I picked these 3 different sizes of pink towel with mermaid patterns. Actually Skylar likes these more than I do lol.

노을지는 뒷마당 모습 Sunset in my backyard

해질녘 이곳 모습은 정말 아름답다. 이제는 익숙해질법도 한데 아직도 가끔 노을을 보며 감탄할 때가 있다. 이 날이 그랬다. 커텐을 걷었는데 그 밖에 보이는 노을 색이 아름다워서 사진을 남겨야만 했던 날.

Sunset here looks astonishing! I can't ever get tired of this view. I was opening the blinds, and the sunset was so beautiful that I wanted to take some pictures of it.

내가 우리집을 사랑하는 이유 중 하나가 바로 위치다. 내가 집을 구매하기 전 막연히 소망했던 게 우리 뒷마당에 다른 집이 가까이 안보였으면 했던 것이다. 다행이 우리 뒷마당은 광할한데다 그 너머로는 목장이 있어서 가끔 정말 멋진 말들을 보는 것 말고는 어떠한 방해도 없다. 정말 너무 마음에 든다. 아무리 생각해도 집 터 하나는 끝내주게 잡았다는 생각이다.

One of my favorite things about this house is the location. I wished that there would be no houses behind my backyard before I bought this house. Thankfully my backyard is awesomely huge and over the fence, there is a pasture with horses but no neighbors!!! I love this! a house location can't be any better than this.

이런 감상에 젖어있을 때 인기척이 느껴져 뒤를 돌아보니 블라인드가 걷혀진 창문으로 나를 바라보고 있던 벨라. ㅋㅋㅋ 너무 너무 귀여워♥

I was being so happy about this, I sensed someone was watching me. That was my cute girl lol.

게스트룸을 꾸며요 Preparing Guestroom for My Family

벌써 다음달이면 내 소중한 가족이 머나먼 미국 땅에 날 보러 올 예정이다. 그래서 휑한 게스트룸을 서둘러 꾸며보기로 했다. 아직도 더 사야할 것들이 있지만 90퍼센트 정도는 완성했다.

My family is visiting me and staying at my house for 2 months. I hurried to decorate the guestroom. There is still something to buy but I would say it's ready!

가장 먼저 배송온 건 스프링 매트리스. 후기가 좋아서 샀는데 역시 비싼 매트리스가 아니라 그런지 아니면 내가 최고급(?) 매트리스에 익숙해져있는 건지 몰라도 매트리스 토퍼를 추가 구매해야할 듯 싶다.

Mattress was delivered first. We ordered this kind because it had so many good reviews. But I think we need to buy toppers. I'm not sure if that was because I'm used to laying down on the best mattress or this mattress is just cheap material lol.

철제 베드프레임을 두고 트윈 사이즈의 매트리스를 올리고 나니 어느새 조금씩 채워저 나가는 게스트 룸.

My guestroom was already looking less empty with mattress lol.

아무래도 철제 프레임이다 보니 베드스커트가 필요할 것 같아서 샀는데 탁월한 결정이었다. 스카일러가 누워서 성인에게 적당한 크기인지 가늠해보고 있는 중. 그 와 중에 벨라도 덩달아 신이났다. 저 베드스커트를 어찌나 좋아하는지 저기에 숨는 걸 엄청 좋아한다. ㅋㅋㅋ

I figured it'd be better with bed skirts for the metal frames. I was so right about it! Skylar was trying to see if the twin size was big for an adult. Meanwhile, Bella was super excited about the room under the bed. She loves hiding in there lol.
