공원이 너무 붐비기 전에 주차하려고 서둘렀다.

다행히 주차공안이 서너개 남아있어서 개중 좋은 곳에 차를 대었다.

We hurried to the park before there was no parking spot.

Luckily, there were a couple of parking spots left.

저 너머로 보이는 스톤마운틴.

그 크기가 절로 압도적이다. 

The Stone Mountain was right there.

The size was jaw-dropping.

우리가 스톤마운틴으로 여행을 결정하게 된 계기 중 하나는

노동자의 날을 맞아 깜짝 티켓 세일을 하여 

인당 19.95 달러로 케이블카는 물론이고 (Ride the Ducks을 제외한) 모든 어트랙션을 다 탈 수 있었기 때문이다.

One of the reasons we chose Stone Mountain was that

they had special discount for Labor day.

Ticket for almost every attraction costed only 19.95 each. (except Ride the Ducks)

미리 온라인으로 구입한 티켓을 출력해와서

이 기계가 바코드를 스캔하면 아래와 같은 밴드형 티켓으로 교환해준다.

We bought tickets online and brought them there,

The machine scanned the bar code and exchanged them for wrist bands.

사랑스럽게 서로의 팔목에 티켓을 감싸주었다. ㅋㅋㅋ.

We put the tickets around each other's wrists. :)

보통 티켓 가격이 인당 30달러인 거로 알고있는데,

굉장히 저렴한 가격으로 거의 모든 체험을 해볼 수 있어서 기대되었다.

As far as I know, the tickets are usually for 30 dollars.

So we were excited to try many attractions for much cheaper price.

우리가 처음 본 어트랙션은 스카이하이크로 남녀노소 관계없이

재미있게 즐길 수 있는 놀이기구였다.

The first attraction we saw was Skyhike.

You climb it holding ropes and trying to keep balanced.

그러나 카메라를 소지하고 있었던 나로서는 

8달러를 내고 보관함에 넣어야만 했고 (그 중 5달러는 디파짓이었지만)

거의 한시간을 기다려야했기 때문에 아쉽지만 다른 것부터 구경해보기로 했다.

But I had my camera with me, I would have had to put it in a locker for 8 dollars

(5 dollars of it was a deposit.)

Since we had to wait at least an hour anyway, we decided to look around first.

스카일러나 나나 둘다 무척 체험해보고 싶었지만,

아쉽게도 결국은 해보지 못했다. ㅠㅠ

Both of us wanted to try it so bad, but we didn't get to do it.

 

본격적으로 스톤마운틴 국립공원에 입성하자 사뭇 놀이동산에 온 듯한 기분도 들었다.

When we passed the attraction, I almost felt like in an amusement park.

큰 비눗방울을 만드는 아저씨와 그 주위에 모여있는 꼬마들

Kids around a guy making big bubbles.

나도 꼬마는 아니지만 비눗방울 만드는 것 진짜 좋아라한다....♡

사진이라도 찍으면서 대리만족

I am an adult but I love making bubbles a lot. :)

좀 더 걸으면 작은 상점들이 모여있는 흡사 마을같은 곳에 이르게 된다.

이 때 어디선가 들려오는 기차 소리!!!

We walked a little more, there was a small town with shops and restaurants.

And we heard a train whistle somewhere close.

마침 기차가 승차장에서 출발하기 직전이었다.

The train was about to leave the platform.

사람들을 따라 관람용 열차를 타러 이동했다.

손에 티켓을 두르고 있어서 번거롭게 티켓을 확인해야하는 일도 없어서 좋았다.

Even though there were so many people, the workers could check people's wrist band tickets so easily.

So there was no delay.

스카일러가 열차 출발방향 기준으로 왼쪽에 타자고 했었는데,

내가 오른쪽으로 고집하는 바람에 좋은 뷰는 건지지 못했다.

(이 열차 탈 기회 있으면 좌측 좌석에 앉으시는게 좋아요.)

Skylar insisted that sit on the left side.

But I was being stubborn so we sat on the right side.

It turned out that only seats on the left side get a good view.

기차 안에서 스톤마운틴의 역사에 대해 간략히 배울 수도 있다.

스톤마운틴 정상에 올라가는 방법이 두 가지가 있는데

하나는 직접 등산하는 것이고 다른 하나는 케이블카를 타는 방법이 있다.

아마도 여기가 사람들이 하산하는 부분이었나보다.

There are two ways to go to top of the mountain.

One is climbing and the other is riding skyride.

I guess this is the path they go down the mountain.

아쉽게 건져본 스톤마운틴 조각상 뷰

I tried my hard to take this picture lol.

다시 기차역으로 돌아와 아쉽게 봤던 스톤마운틴 조각상들을 가까이서 보기로 했다.

We decided to look at the carving closer.

우리가 탈 예정인 케이블 카, 스카이라이드.

This is a skyride that we were going to ride.

스톤마운틴 조각상 맞은 편에는 메모리얼 홀이 위치하고 있다.

There is a memorial hall on the opposite side from the mountain.

하나의 광장처럼 꾸며져 있고 나들이, 소풍 오기에도 딱 좋은 장소다.

This place is perfect for picnic.

산들 산들 불어오는 바람에 온갖 멎쟁이 폼을 다 잡는 남편 ㅋㅋㅋ

My husband tried to seem cool with breezes.

어째 점점 포토제닉해지는 것 같다. ㅎㅎ

He is becoming photogenic.

어마어마한 조각상 크기에 상대적으로 매우 작아보이는 나

I look tiny compared to the mountain.

기찻길 위에서 기차에 치이는 듯한 연기하는 남편 '^'

He was acting weird on the rail.

그 옆에 바로 미니골프장이 있어서 그 곳으로 떠나본다.

We headed to the mini golf place.

공 색깔을 고를 수도 있었는데 남편은 형광 주황, 나는 분홍색을 택했다.

We could choose colors of the ball.

Skylar picked an orange one, I did a pink one.

수많은 인파에 휩싸여서 그리 많이 즐기지는 못했지만,

그래도 가볍게 골프체험하는 용으로 좋았다.

We couldn't enjoy it much because there were so many people.

But we had fun.

목이 말랐던 우리는 무려 3달러를 주고 물을 사마시게 되어버림 ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

We were dying of thirst, we bought a bottle of water for 3 dollars...

이후 근처 4D 체험관으로 갔는데, 아이스에이지를 4D로 상영해준다.

상영시간은 대략 15분 정도인데 가끔 깜짝깜짝 놀란다. ㅋㅋ

시설도 좋고, 공룡 테마에 맞는 영화여서 재미있게 봤다.

There was a 4D theater just right there.

They show a movie ICE AGE in 4D.

It lasts 15 minutes and sometimes we got startled by the chair moving.

It was pretty fun :)

여기는 아이들용 정글짐 가이저타워.

물이 사방에서 나온다. 엄청 재밌어보였지만 성인이라 탈 수 없었던 아쉬움...

This is an attraction for kids.

They shoot water everywhere. It looked fun though.

스톤마운틴 어드벤처 후기는 2탄에서 계속...................
