Stone Mountain Attractions 2 Plantation House

우리가 다음으로 향한 곳은 <<다이너토리움>>.

사실 가려고 해서 간 건 아니고 스카일러가 이 곳을 <다이너소어 익스플로어>와 헷갈리는 바람에 얼떨결에 입장하게 되었다.

Our next place was Dinotorium.

We didn't mean to go there but Skylar was confused this place with <Dinosaur Explorer>

들어가자마자 심상치 않은 분위기와 여기저기서 날라오는 장난감 공들;;

소리지르며 죽기살기로 뛰어다니는 아이들에 정신이 혼미해졌다.

When we were about to go into the place.

We felt wrong.... because we could hear kids screaming everywhere and see them running.

스카일러는 마치 본인이 아이가 된 마냥 신이 나서는

꼭대기 층까지 올라가보고, 장난감 공을 발사하는 총까지 조종했더라는.

But Skylar got excited as if he was a kid.

He went all the way up to the top floor and almost shoot some lady with a foam ball.

정신을 차리고 아이들의 성지에서 빠져나와 이번엔 제대로 찾아온 다이너소어 익스플로어

Anyways we ran away from the kid's place.

Now we are at the right place, Dinosaur Explore!

움직이는 공룡들이 외부에 전시되어 있고 마치 쥬라기 영화 속에 들어와있는 것 같이 세팅해놓았다.

There are many moving dinosaurs displayed and the place sort of looked like the movie Jurassic World.

스톤마운틴이 어쩌다 공룡 테마를 선택하게 되었는 지는 잘 모르겠지만,

아이들의 흥미를 이끄는 데에는 이 만한 주제도 없는 듯.

I don't know why Stone Mountain Park chose a Dinosaur theme.

But this theme surely works to attract kid's interest.

꽤나 넓은 전시였는데 처음엔 시니컬한 반응이었던 나도 어느새 동화되어 공룡과 사진 찍기에 바빠졌던 곳

This exhibition was pretty big.

When I just got there, I was being cynical about this place

But I found myself asking Skylar to take pictures of me and the dinosaurs a few minutes later lol. 

이번엔 과거 웅장한 부를 자랑하던 거대 맨션으로 이동해본다.

We moved to this historic Georgia house. 

그 맨션에 들어가려면 꼭 이 상점을 지나쳐야하는데, 여기서 맨션 지도를 얻을 수 있다.

You have to go through this gift shop to the house and you can get a map of the house here as well.

여기가 과거 엄청난 부를 자랑하는 <<플랜테이션 하우스>> 이다.

즉 거대 농장을 노예들을 이용해서 부를 축적한 곳.

This is a very rich house - Plantation House-

It's like they accumulated wealth running huge farms with slavery.

그 주인은 찰스 밀튼 데이비스.

His name is Charles Milton Davis.

내부로 들어가 구경해볼 수 있는데

이 문을 열 때 "끼---이익" 하는 소리가 나서 괜히 소름끼쳤다.

You can also go into the house,

when we opened the door, it made a creak sound ;;; (creepy)

놀라운 건 그 시절 고풍적인 인테리어와 소품들 그대로 재현해두어서 보는 재미가 있다.

The inside surprised me. All the antique furniture and decorations were great. 

다이닝룸도 본 것만 두 개였는데 접시와 소품, 가구들이 모두 고급스러운데다가 깔끔하게 보존되어 있었다.

I had seen two dining rooms in this house, their plates, cups, table and chairs were fancy and stayed in good condition.

여기가 침실

This is a bed room.

이 곳은 공부방으로 설명에는 엄청 엄격하게 성별에 의해 구분되어 있진 않다고 되어있으나,

여성으로서 기분 좋은 구절이 아님에는 확실하다.

This is a study room and the explanation says - not strictly divided by gender -

But this doesn't sound very pleasant to me as a woman.

스카일러는 이 방을 보더니 훌루에 핸드메이드 테일이라는 드라마 중

남자 집 주인만이 쓸 수 있는 공부방이 있는데 실제 역사에서 착안했다는 걸 알게 되었다고 한다.

Skylar read this too and it reminded him of this show -Handmaid's Tale- of Hulu.

There was a study room only for the male commander.

He thought the writer must have borrowed the idea from real history.

집 자체가 굉장히 넓어서 창고 및 고기 굽는 곳, 가축 키우는 곳도 있었다.

The house was huge and it had a farm yard, smokey place and places for livestocks.

본 건물 말고도 다수의 별관이 있었으나 시간 관계상 다 둘러보지는 못하고 대정원으로 향했다.

There were a few more annex besides the main house, we couldn't look every building.

식물원같은 모습의 개인 정원.

그 부가 얼마나 대단했을 지 상상하기 어렵다 '^'

This garden looked like a botanical garden.

I can't even imagine how rich these people were in the past.
