Omni Berkshire Hotel by Ferry

브루클린 원호텔 바로 앞에 페리 선착장이 있었다. 근처에 티켓 발매기가 있어서 5달러 약간 넘는 돈으로 아주 착한 가격에 두명 분의 티켓을 살 수 있었다. 우리가 탄 건 ER 루트로 덤보를 거쳐 맨하탄 이스트 스트릿으로 가는 페리였다.

There was a ferry pier right next to One Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. We bought two tickets for about five dollars using a ticket machine near the pier. It was ER route and took us to East 34th street.

우리는 캐리어가 두개나 있어서 혹시나 캐리어는 갖고 못탄다고 할까봐 걱정했는데 여쭤보니 당연한 걸 물어본다는 식이어서 ㅋㅋ 안심하고 가지고 탈 수 있었다. 여기가 페리 안 실내 모습. 우리는 두 정거장 뒤에 페리 위로 올라가보기로 했다.

We were unsure if we could have our suitcases in a ferry. We asked the ferry employee about that and he answered like it was a given. This is inside of the ferry. We stayed there for more than two stops and went up to the top.

일기예보론 우리 여행날짜인 8월 말 9월 초 뉴욕 날씨가 하루 빼고 비가 온다길래 너무 걱정했는데, 정작 하루만 비가 오고 남은 날은 아주 쨍쨍하고 더운 여름날씨였다.

According to the weather app, it was supposed to rain during our New York trip except one day. Turned out it rained only one day while we were there. It was mostly hot and sunny summer days.

저렴한 가격으로 또 다른 방법으로 뉴욕의 빌딩숲을 구경할 수 있어 좋았다.

It was nice to look at the Skylines with a reasonable price!

바람이 꽤 많이 불어 페리가 넘실거려 하마터면 멀미가 나나 했지만;

I almost got seasick because it was so windy that the ferry was rocking over the waves.

작년 뉴욕여행 때 갠트리 파크에 온 적이 있었는데 그 때 페리를 타려고 했었는데 어느 곳에서도 선착장을 찾을 수가 없었다. 알고보니 그냥 그 날 무슨 일이었는지 운행을 안하는 거였나보더라. 우리가 정거한 이 곳이 바로 갠트리파크 선착장이었다.

Actually we have been here at Gantry Park during our last NY trip! We wanted to ride a ferry but couldn't find a pier anywhere. I'm not sure what happened on that day, I assume the ferry didn't run for some reason. Because this time we stopped by there!

이스트 34번가에 내려 리프트를 불러서 옴니버크셔 호텔에 도착했다. 체크인 시간이 3시부터라고 알고 있었는데 우리가 12시에 도착했는데도 바로 방을 배정해주셔서 다행이었다.

We got off the ferry at East 34th St. and called a Lyft to Omni Berkshire Hotel. Check in starts at 3 P.M. but they let us check in at noon.

브루클린 1호텔에 숙박하다가 이 곳에 오니 뭔가 모를 친숙함이 느껴졌다. ㅋㅋㅋ 호텔은 생각보다 더 오래된 것 같았고 뷰도 그리 좋진 않았다. 프라이스라인 익딜로 저렴하게 왔으니 다행이었지, 제값주고 왔더라면 조금은 화날 법한... 퀄리티의 호텔. 작년에 묵었던 르네상스 호텔 57이 차라리 더 나았다.

After staying at a fancy hotel like One hotel Brooklyn Bridge, Omni Berkshire Hotel was more like what we were used to. It looked pretty old and the view wasn't good. It was okay to stay there with discounted price but if I paid the full price for this hotel, I would have been upset. I would rather stay at Renaissance Hotel 57 where we stayed last year.

침대는 킹사이즈라는데 실제론 퀸사이즈 같았고 가장 큰 단점은 문 아래 조금 공간이 남아서 복도 소음을 잘 들을 수 있다. 특히나 우리가 배정된 531호 앞에 두 방이 직원용 휴게실로 쓰이는 것 같아 그 방 문이 자주 열고 닫혔는데, 문이 꽤나 무거운 철문이라서 닫힐 때 소리가 너무 크게 나기도 했다.

The bed was supposed to be a king sized bed but it looked like a queen bed. The worst thing about this room was that there was a big gap underneath the door, we could hear every noise from the hallway. Especially there were two resting rooms for their employees in front of our room, whenever they walked in and out it made a big noise.
