지난 주말 시부모님, 시동생과 함께 세상에서 가장 유니크한 쇼핑몰을 다녀왔다.
언클레임드 배기지 센터는 미국 항공사들의 분실물들을 구입하여 되파는 쇼핑몰인데 앨라배마 단 한 곳에만 있다.
Last weekend, I went to the most unique shopping place in the world with my husband's family.
This is only unclaimed baggage location in the US, which resells lost baggage of domestic airlines.
사실 처음 이 곳에 왔을 때는 주인 잃은 물건을 산다는 게 조금은 찜찜하고 소름끼친다는 생각마저 들었지만,
언클레임드 배기지 웹사이트에서는 3개월간의 의무 보관기관 이후에도
여전히 분실보관 된 0.5% 물건들이기 때문에
항공사와의 계약을 토대로 이 물건들에게 새로운 주인을 찾아주는 (?) 개념이라고 보면 될 것 같다.
At first I thought it might be a little creepy buying other people's stuff.
Its website says, only 0.5% of luggage isn't returned after a 3 month tracing process.
(that 0.5% of lost luggage goes to this store.)
So It's like finding a new owner for the lost items again.
잃어버린 수화물의 대부분은 옷이라고 하는데, 옷 외에도 기상천외한 물건들이 엄청나게 많다.
Most of the lost items are clothing, there is a lot of other unexpected items too.
문구류부터 르쿠르제 냄비를 반값에 살 수도 있고 향수, 담요, 쿠션 등등 엄청나게 다양한 물건들에 눈이 휘둥그레해졌다.
You can buy stationery, perfumes, blankets, cushions and even Lecrueset's pots at half price!
남편은 한국 팬 답게 어떻게 아이러브코리아가 써있는 머그를 발견하는 건지 도통 신기하다.
No wonder this Korea boo found this mug that says "I Love Korea".
베트남 모자도 있길래 같이 씌워봤는데, 누가 보고 자기를 인종차별자로 오해하면 어떡하냐고 그런다.
그래서 왜냐고 물어보니 베트남모자나 한국컵이나 같은 아시아 나라라고 똑같이 생각하는 사람이라고 오해받으면 어떡하녠다.ㅎ
맞는 말이지. :)
I found a Vietnamese hat (Conical hat) and made him try it on with the mug.
He was worried that he could seem like a racist.
I asked how come?
and he told me that what if people assumed that he can't even distinguish the two totally different countries.
Good job baby.
나는 이런 쇼핑몰이 존재한다는 것조차 몰랐는데, 역시 쇼핑의 고수이신 시엄마는 우리를 지하 3층으로 데려가셨다.
그곳은 아주 최후까지 판매하는 물건들로써 최저가로 마지막 떨이 중인 상품들이 판매되는 곳이었다.
I didn't even know of this kind of shopping center.
My pro shopper parents took us to the 3rd floor basement.
On this floor the items are being sold at the very last chance at the lowest price.
지하 3층에서 발견한 고데기다. 작동이 되는지 안되는지 콘센트가 주변에 있어서 테스트 해볼 수도 있다.
컬링용, 매직용 스트레이트 고데기 없는 게 없다. 무난히 작동되기에 거의 새거를 3천원 주고 구입했다 ㅇㅅㅇ
I found this iron there. You can even plug it to the outlets to check if it works or not .
There were irons for curling and straightening hair as well.
I bought it for 3 dollars.
완전 별천지라고 생각했던 최후 떨이 중고 카메라 코너이다. 필름카레라랑 오래된 디지털카메라랑 마구마구 섞여있다.
여기서 내가 발견한 것은 바로바로...
I was so amazed by these cameras! There were digital cameras and even film cameras!
What I found there was.... (drum roll)
야시카 T4 super D 웨더프루프(워터프루프 아님ㅋ) 필름카메라!!!
다른 카메라들은 방전이 되어 작동되지 않는 반면에 이 카메라는 배터리가 아직 남아있는 필카였다.
안그래도 필름카메라가 너무너무 갖고 싶어서 몇개월동안 앓이 중이었는데...
단돈 만원. 카메라가 작동하지 않는다쳐도 일단 무조건 구입해야만 하는 가격 아닌가?!

While the other cameras were dead, this camera's battery was still alive.
I had wanted a film camera for months anyways,
Why wouldn't I buy a ten dollar used film camera for a test?
이게 그 유명한 라이언맥긴리가 야시카 카메라로 찍은 사진이라던데...
그래서인지 중고가로도 40만원을 웃도는 가격에 판매되고 있는 카메라였다.
이걸 만원주고 산 나는 완전 럭키;

Maybe that's why used Yashica cameras are being sold over 400 dollars online.
I'm so lucky to get this only for 10 dollars.
이거는 루믹스 디지털 카메라인데 라이카 렌즈인걸까?
라이카 카메라 가지고 싶었는데 이건 또 디지털카메라라서 망설이다가 구매안했는데 살 걸 그랬다.
I wasn't sure if the lens was Leica's or not.
I want a Leica camera too but I hesitated to get this digital camera and I didn't get it.

블랙베리부터 여러 기종의 핸드폰을 구매할 수도 있다.
눌러보면 진짜 화면 켜진다;
There were so many phones even Blackberry!
It turned on when I pressed the button.
다시 지상층으로 올라와서 구경하면, 명품 향수, 브랜드 브러쉬, 브랜드 가방 등등 안파는 게 없다.
나는 여기서 MAC 파운데이션 브러쉬랑 아이브로우 브러쉬를 구매했다. >_<
We went back up to the ground floor. There were luxury perfumes, brushes, and purses etc.
I got two MAC brushes.
시동생은 남편의 도움을 받아 노트북을 구매했는데,
HP 터치스크린 13인치에 360도 펼쳐지는 새 노트북을 거의 반값에 구매했다.
My sister-in-law bought a laptop with my husband's help here.
It was a new HP 13 inch touch screen that can be folded all the way at under half the price.
모든 노트북이 완벽하게 포맷되어 있고 유쾌한 남자 직원이 설명해주고
전원 들어오는지부터 작동이 완벽히 되는지 하나하나 다 보여준다.
다른 버튼을 전원버튼으로 착각하셔서 내가 직접 전원버튼 눌러줬다. ㅋ
Every laptop was perfectly formatted.
There was one nice guy who explained every specification of the laptop and showed us step by step.
He pressed a different button to turn it on so I did it instead for him :D
옷종류가 제일 많지만, 나는 다른 사람이 입은 옷은 영 찝찝해서 열심히 둘러보지는 않았다.
Most of the items there were clothing, but I don't like used clothes.
여기 지상층에는 DSLR이랑 새 카메라들이 떨이층보다는 약간 비싼가격이지만
여전히 시중가보다 엄청나게 저렴한 가격으로 판매되고 있어서 눈 돌아갔다. @_@
블로그 방문자수 하루 500명 찍는 날에 여기서 새 카메라 사주라고 남편에게 신신당부했다.
On the first floor, The cameras are a little bit more expensive than the cameras on the third basement floor.
Still they are so cheap compared to market price.
I told my husband to get me one of them once the number of my blog visitors gets to 500.
남편이 신발 가지고 싶어서 신발코너에서 보고 있다가 막상 내가 구입하게 되는 놀라운 기적이 벌어진다. ㅋ

내가 발견한 아디다스랑 나이키 런닝화다.
두 켤레 합쳐서 7만원에 샀다. 대박 ㅇㅅㅇ
거의 새거였는데 둘다 너무 마음에 들어서 뭘 살지 고민하다가 그냥 다 사버렸다....
I found these two pairs of decent running shoes.
I bought them for 70 dollars for the 2 pairs. (Holy moly ><)
They were almost new and I couldn't decide what to get.
So I just bought the two pairs-_-a
내가 앨라배마 와서 놀란 기억 첫번째가 퍼널케익 먹었을 때고
언클레임드 배기지 쇼핑몰이 두번째로 놀란 기억이 되었다.
My first amazement here was the funnel cake,
The second one is this shopping place.
앨라배마주 여행객이거나 거주자라면 꼭 한번 방문해보라고 강추하고 싶은 쇼핑 명소다!
I strongly recommend you visit here either you are a traveler or resident in Alabama.
쇼핑 끝나고 마더스데이를 위해 꽃을 사러 간 옆동네 퍼블릭스.
We went to Publix to get flowers for mother's day after the shopping.
이건 퍼블릭스에서 산 초밥인데, 먹다가 급히 찍었다 ^^;
가격이 12달러라 너무 비싸서 저번에 이거 발견했을 때 너무 비싸서 망설이다가 사지 못했다가
큰 맘 먹고 이번에 먹어봤는데 대박.... 상투스가 울렸다. 미국에서 여태 먹은 초밥 중에 내 마음 속 1위 찍었다.
자주 먹어야지;^^;
I took this pictures in the middle of eating;;
These are sushi and rolls at publix and the price is 12dollars.
I couldn't get this when I first found it, because that was too expensive.
I tried it this time. WOW. They were super good.
I'd say this was the best sushi in Alabama!!!!!
퍼블릭스에서 마음에 드는 꽃을 찾지 못하고 기어코 월마트까지 가서 꽃구경을 한 30분했으려나
꼼꼼히 살펴서 그 중 제일 예쁜 카네이션 꽃다발과 장미를 구입하고 집에 돌아갔다.
I couldn't find the best flowers at Publix and had to go to Walmart.
After 30 minutes of looking for the best ones,
I bought pretty carnations and roses and finally went home.
