버밍햄 맛집 | SAW's BBQ in Birmingham

임시영주권을 진행 중에 있는데, 지난 주 이민국으로부터 받은 편지에는

생체정보 수집을 위해서 지정된 USCIS에 지정된 시간에 가야 했다.

My green card is in process.

I've got a notice from the immigration last week.

It was my biometrics appointment in Birmingham. 

버밍햄까지 달려왔는데 예약된 시간보다 10분 초과했다.

We got there 10 minutes later than the appointment time.

남편은 홍채인식까지 할 거라며 렌즈낀 나를 걱정시켰다.

My husband told me that I would need to take off my contacts saying they would scan my irises -_-.

106호가 이민국 관련 빌딩이었는데, 기다리는 사람이 아무도 없어서 정말 빨리 끝났다.

간단한 신체정보&신원정보를 적고 지문인식만 하면 끝이 난다.

Room 106 was the application support center.

There were no people waiting.

All I needed to do was write information about me and get my fingerprints scanned.

점심시간이 다 되어 어제 알아봐두었던 버밍햄 맛집 SAW's BBQ로 가기로 했다.

We headed to a Birmingham BBQ restaurant -SAW's BBQ- for lunch.

그 빌딩에서 겨우 5분거리 떨어져 있는 버밍햄 바베큐 맛집이다.

It was only five minutes far away from the building.

SAW's BBQ는 옐프에서 4.5점/5점 평점으로 369개의 리뷰를 가지고 있었다.

내가 남부식 립을 먹어봐야 한다면서 남편이 선택한 식당이다.

This restaurant has 4.5 ratings and 369 reviews on YELP.

My husband said I should try southern style ribs.

안에 들어가면 간판들로 빼곡히 차있는 벽 때문에 빈티지한 느낌을 받는다.

There were vintage signs on the walls.

칠판에 메뉴가 적혀있지만 카운터에 메뉴판이 있어서 더 읽기 쉽다.

It's easier to read the menu on the papers at the counter.

우리는 원래 Half Slab을 시키려고 했는데, 콤보로 시키는 게 더 좋을 것 같다는 종업원의 추천으로 콤보를 주문했다.

가격은 16.55 달러로 기억한다.

We were going to order a Half Slab, but the cashier suggested the combo.

That was 16.55$

점심시간이라 꽤나 줄이 있었지만 금방 금방 빠진다.

There was a long line but we didn't have to wait long.

바쁘게 돌아가는 식당에 서버는 딱히 없어서 식탁에 있는 부스러기같은 것들은 타월로 본인이 직접 닦아야 한다.

There were no servers so we had to wipe the table with the paper towel by ourselves.

엄청나게 많은 소스들이 구비되어 있다.

Many sauces.

그리하여 우리가 주문한 립 콤보 세트다!

This is the Rib Combo.

사이드메뉴로는 코울슬로와 마카로이치즈, 샌드위치 빵이 함께 나온다.

The side dishes are macaroni & cheese, cole slaw and bread.

남편이 정말 맛있다고 했던 마카로니&치즈

My husband really liked the macaroni & cheese.

내가 좋아하는 코울슬로!

엄청 시지도 않고 아삭하니 좋았다.

I liked the cole slaw.

It was not very sour but very crisp.

립이 총 세덩이 나오는데, 하나하나 크기가 꽤 크다.

there were 3 ribs and each of them was big.

핫소스를 립에 약간 뿌려먹으니까 대박 쫀맛이다.

It was sooooo good with hot sauce.

나는 손에 뭐 묻히고 먹는게 싫어서 립도 포크를 사용해서 먹었는데,

크게 불편하지 않을 정도로 살이 아주 부드러웠다.

I always use a fork even when I ate the ribs.

The ribs were so soft that using a fork wasn't even uncomfortable.

립이 얼마나 부드러운지 포크로도 잘 집힌다.

Look how soft they are!

윤기가 좌르르르르.

The ribs were so juicy.

It looked shiny because of their BBQ sauce.

이건 딜피클인데 진짜 최고 신맛을 자랑하는 피클로 내 남편이 좋아한다.

나는 너무 신 건 싫어서 이 피클은 나랑 안 맞는걸로..

These are dill pickles and super sour.

I don't like sour food very much.

립이 너무 맛있어서 감탄한 남편의 표정.ㅋㅋ

His facial expressions tell you how good the ribs are!

이렇게 두꺼운 키친타올은 처음본다. 신기했다.

I hadn't seen this thick paper towel before.

레모네이드를 흡입하는 남편.

립을 먹고 난 후에는 치실이 간절해질정도로 이 사이에 잘 낀다 -_-a

He was chugging the lemonade.

You will want to floss so bad after eating the ribs.

버밍햄 맛집이었던 SAW's BBQ.

나는 음식은 정말 맛있었지만 북적북적한 식당을 별로 좋아하지 않아서

나의 평점은 3.8/5점

자기가 먹어본 립 중에 가장 맛있었다고 극찬했던

남편의 평점은 4/5점이다.

I enjoyed the ribs but I didn't like the crowded & cluttered restaurant.

So my rating is 3.8 out of 5.

My husband said the ribs might be the best ribs he has ever had.

His rating is 4.

우리 동네에는 스타벅스가 없어서 스벅에 가려면 헌츠빌까지 가야하는데

개즈든에도 스타벅스가 있다는 걸 며칠 전에 알았다.

Our town doesn't have starbucks -_-

So if we wanted to go to Starbucks then we had to go all the way to Huntsville.

We found out that there was starbucks in Gadsden too!

마침 버밍햄에서 집으로 돌아오던 차에 스타벅스 간판이 있어서

급작스레 방문하게 된 스타벅스!

We saw a Starbucks sign on the road,

We stopped by there.

왜냐면 북미한정으로 출시된 미드나잇 민트모카 프라푸치노를 먹기 위해서다.

To drink Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino which is only released in North America.

우리는 뉴욕여행에서 맛보기로 시음한 민트 프라푸치노가 너무 맛있어서

계속 사먹고 싶어했는데 마침 오늘이 그날이다.

We had wanted this since we tried a sample in New York.

스타벅스는 신기하게도 어느 매장에서든 같은 커피향기가 난다.

그래서 왠지모르게 낯설지 않은 기분을 준다. 아마도 마케팅의 일환이겠지?

Every Starbucks has the same scent.

So it gives you a familiar feeling.

I guess it's one of their marketing strategies.

한국은 스타벅스가 가장 많은 나라인데, 

미국 남부 시골로 오니 자주 가지 못하게 된다.

Korea has the most starbucks in the world.

I hadn't went to starbucks in a while since I moved to this small town.

아마 미국오고 나서 처음으로 내가 스벅에서 뭔갈 사먹은 듯 하다.

I believe this was my first time drinking Starbucks in America. 

남편이 예전에 스타벅스 알라바마 컵을 선물해줬는데,

받은 그날 잃어버렸다 ㅠ_ㅠ

My husband gave me this Alabama starbucks mug before,

I lost it on the day when i got it-_-;;

우리 둘이 나누어 먹으려고 벤티사이즈로 주문한 미드나잇 민트모카 프라푸치노.

민트맛을 좋아하지 않는 나도 진짜 맛있다고 느낄 만큼 향이 강하지 않다.

음료는 대체적으로 초콜렛(빠삐코 아이스크림)맛이고,

휘핑에서 조금 강한 민트맛이 나지만 거부감 들 정도는 아니었다.

We ordered a venti size to share.

I don't like mint flavor very much but the frappuccino doesn't have a strong mint flavor.

The beverage tastes like chocolate.

The whipping has a more mint flavor.

정말 오랜만에 온 스타벅스.

이제 어디에 있는 지도 알았으니 자주 가고 싶다.

근데 굉장히 이상한 위치에 있긴 하다.

쇼핑몰에 있을 법한데 횡량한 곳 주유소 옆에 있다. ㅋㅋ

Now that we know where the starbucks is exactly I wanna go there often!

But the location sure is weird.

It was next to a gas station and truck stop.

집으로 돌아가는 길 발견한 비행기.

버밍햄 공항까지 착륙하는 중이라 되게 가까이 보였다.

We saw this plane very closely.

Because it was landing at Birmingham airport.
