어딘가로 작정하고 떠난 여행이 한동안 뜸했어서 남편에게 기분전환하러 채터누가에 다녀오자고 했다.
1시간 반 정도 떨어진 채터누가는 대도시는 아니지만 관광도시로써 볼거리가 많은 곳이다.
We haven't went on a "trip" since the New York trip.
So I suggested to him we go to Chattanooga for a trip.
Because Chattanooga is one and a half hours away from home and the city has many tourist attractions.
날씨도 화창하니 드라이브하기 딱 좋았다.
The weather was perfect as well.

채터누가에 가까워지자 급증하는 교통량. 반대편 차로가 차들로 아주 꽉 막혔다.
The closer we got to Chattanooga, the more traffic jams there were in the opposite direction.
왼편에 보이는 테네시 강이 채터누가에 도착했음을 알려준다.
You can tell that you are in Chattanooga by the Tennessee river.
이번 미국 테네시 주 채터누가 여행에 첫 목적지는 바로 채터누가 추추 호텔.
이번 여행의 아주 다크호스 같은 역할을 해준 곳 :)
Our first destination was the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel.
My husband thought this hotel would not be worth stopping by at first.
이 호텔 왼편에 공영주차장이 있는데 시간에 관계없이 무조건 후불 4달러다.
There is a public parking lot to the left of the hotel.
It costs only 4 dollars no matter how long you park.
큼직 큼직한 주차장에 넉넉한 주차공간이라 마음 편하게 주차해놓고 계단을 통해 지상으로 내려갔다.
There was so much room to park. We took the stairs down.

색깔이 알록달록하니 귀여워 시승해보고 싶어 알아보니 한 사람당 25$로 이틀동안 이용할 수 있다.
채터누가에 이틀동안 머무는 여행객들에게는 좋은 교통수단일 것이다.
실제로 여행지 곳곳에 승하차를 할 수 있도록 되어있더라.
온라인으로 미리 예약하면 20$로 티켓을 구매할 수 있다고 한다.
There was a trolley.
It looked so colorful and cute that I wanted to ride it.
It costs 25 dollars each person for 2 days.
It was expensive for one day trip travelers like us, but It would be nice to try if you stay more than 2 days.
Since the trolley takes you to every popular places.
You can book the tickets online 5 dollars cheaper as well.

채터누가의 랜드마크 격인 채터누가 추추 호텔.
외관이 굉장히 웅장한 기차터미널 같았다.
호텔 옆에 위치한 frothy monkey는 카페인데, 다음에 기회가 되면 여기서 브런치 먹어보고 싶다!
Chattanooga Choo Choo is like a landmark of Chattanooga.
The hotel looked like a big train station.
Frothy monkey is a cafe in the hotel, I would try it next time.
또 맛집을 알아봤는데 채터누가 추추 맞은 편에 Hot chocolatier 라는 디저트 가게가 있다.
이번 여행에서는 다른 디저트 집을 다녀와서 여기는 다음 여행을 위해 아껴두는 걸로 :)
Hot Chocolatier is a popular dessert cafe and located across the street from the hotel.
I'm gonna try their food later!
관광도시답게 자전거로도 여행지를 다닐 수 있게 해 놓았다.
햇볓이 더무 뜨거워서 시도해볼 생각은 하지 않았지만, 세련된 도시란 인상을 주었다.
They even have bicycle transit system.
We didn't think of trying it since the sun was so hot.
But it gave me a good impression.
호텔 옆 코너를 돌면 맥주집, 바가 즐비해있는 골목이 나오는데 여기 빌딩들 외관 구경도 쏠쏠하다.
If you take a right from the hotel, there is an alley with bars.
채터누가 추추 호텔에 머물 기회가 된다면 한번쯤은 저녁에 이 바 거리에 와서 도시의 밤 분위기를 즐겨보는 것도 좋을 것 같다.
If we stayed at Chattanooga Choo Choo, we would definitely come here and try one of the bars at night.
이 때, 한 단체가 무리지어 전동킥보드(세그웨이?)를 타고 지나갔는데, 도시에서 대여를 해주는 건지는 모르겠다.
본인들이 직접 샀다기엔 공동구매가 아닌 이상 너무 똑같았던 것!
자전거보다 편할 것 같다. 땡볕에 계속 서있어야한다는 것을 빼곤 :D
There was a group of people riding Segways.
I'm not sure if they rented them from the city or bought them together.
It looked so cool and seemed more convenient than a bicycle.
보통 많은 도시들이 맨홀뚜껑에 각 도시만의 개성이 담긴 디자인을 새겨놓는데,
맨홀뚜껑을 보고 있자면 그 도시가 대표적으로 내세우는 이미지가 뭔지 한눈에 파악할 수 있다.
Many cities design their sewers to describe their city at a glance.
채터누가 Point park 에서 바라본 테네시강 전경인 것 같은데
사실 우리도 이번에 노을지는 광경을 보러 point park에 가보려했는데 5시에 문을 닫아 시간이 부족해서 가지 못했다.
다음엔 꼭!!!!! 꼭 가볼거다 ㅠㅠ

Actually we planned to go to Point park and realized it was too late to stop by there.
It closes at 5 pm so we were running out of time.
다시 채터누가 추추 호텔로 왔던 길을 되돌아간다.
We headed back to the hotel.
채터누가 추추 왼편으로 돌면 승강장 같은 곳이 있는데 여기가 바로 채터누가 추추의 진짜 보석같은 장소.
There is a place like a platform behind the hotel.
여기서 트롤리를 승하차하는 것 같고 왼쪽 벽돌 건물이 바로 우리가 주차한 주차장이다.
너무 편리하게도 모든 게 다 이 주위에 있었다.
I think you hop the trolley in the yellow line.
The brick building on the left in this picture is the parking lot.
플랫폼을 지나면 옛날 기차들이 전시되어 있는 정원이 나온다.
채터누가 추추 숙박을 하지 않아도 정원이 공개되어 있어서 누구나 무료로 관람가능하다.
내쉬빌 그랜드오프리 호텔이 실내정원을 공개하고 있는 것처럼,
채터누가 추추호텔도 기차테마 정원을 모두가 이용할 수 있도록 잘 꾸며놓았다.

Aye Aye Captain.
애기 그림이라 굉장히 쭈구려 앉아 찍어야 했어서 끙끙대신 분 ㅎㅎ
익살스러운 표정이 꾸러기 같다.
He struggled to squat for the baby printing.
귀부인도 한번 해주세요~ 라는 나의 요청에 완벽한 핏을 선보이심.
I asked him to be my lady. lol.
화장실이 급했던 우리는 오른편 대합실 같은 곳으로 들어가봤다.
We had to find a restroom and tried going in the building through the black door.
그러자 정말 대합실이 나옴!!!
너무 깔끔하고 관리가 잘 되어있는 곳이라서 감탄에 감탄을 연발했다.
It looked like a train station!
Wow, they maintain this so well.
각 승강장의 정보가 담긴 기차역 시스템 같은데 뭔가 단순하면서도 복잡해보였다.
This thing looked like a train stations system.
여기 화장실은 우리가 미국에서 이용해본 곳 중에 가장 멋진 인테리어였다고 생각한다.
남편이 화장실 다녀온 후 하는 말 "화장실 갈 필요 없어도 꼭 한 번 들어갔다 나와야해."
다녀와보니 고개가 절로 끄덕끄덕해짐.
The restroom was the nicest one in America we have ever been to.
After My husband use the restroom and he said
"You have to go to the restroom even if you don't need to"
I understood why :D
무료로 얼음물을 마실 수 있도록 해두었다. (감동)
여기 카운터에서 채터누가 무료 셔틀버스가 있다는 정보를 입수했다.
남편은 시내에서 운전하고 주차장을 걱정해야한다는 게 여행 다닐 때 큰 스트레스인데,
무료 셔틀버스가 있다는 소식에 우리 둘 다 놀랐다.
대중교통이 이렇게 편해도 되는거야?
They offer you free iced water too.
We overheard there are free shuttles here.
He gets stressed about worrying where to park, but if there were shuttles??
We got surprised by how nice their public transportation system is.

다시 바깥 정원으로 나와 기차 구경을 하러 고고.
We went outside to see the trains.

흔히 우리가 어릴 적 봐왔던 기차모형과 똑같은 그시절 그색깔 장난감 기차가 전시되어 있다.
This train is painted like a toy I saw when I was young.
진짜 기차 승강장같다. 심지어 오른쪽 어떤 칸에는 독특한 바도 있었다.
This looked like a real platform!
Some cars even have a bar in them.
헤어지는 척....슬픈 척...ㅎㅎ
Pretending to be sad......bye...
기차 칸 안에는 들어가볼 순 없어도 자유롭게 구경할 수 있어서 좋았다.
You can't walk into the compartments but still we could look around the trains freely.
기찻길을 쭈욱 따라 걷다보면 파란 아파트가 나오고 또 그 아파트를 돌면 다시 채터누가 기차정원으로 갈 수 있다.
We walked along the platform all the way and there were blue apartments.
날씨도 좋고 관리도 잘 되어있는 정원에서 신나게 포토타임을 가지고
실시간으로 정보를 입수한 무료 셔틀버스를 타러 승강장으로 이동했다.
The weather was perfect and the garden was well maintained.
We took our time there and left for the shuttle bus station.
우리가 주차한 그 공영주차장 바로 옆에 셔틀버스 승강장이 있고 5분 간격으로 버스가 오기 때문에 정말 편리했다.
우리는 마지막 종착역인 채터누가 테네시 아쿠아리움으로 향했다.
It was so convenient to get there because it was in the same building as the parking lot.
We headed to the last stop which is Tennessee Aquarium.
