Gardening, Combo card :: 미국 뒷마당 정원 만들기 & 이민 콤보카드 수령

지난 주 미국 이민국으로부터 콤보카드를 수령했다. 이제 나도 일을 할 수 있다는 의미!!!

이렇게 하나 하나 진행이 되어 가는 거 보면 신기하기도 하고, 시간이 헛되이 흘러가지는 않는구나란 생각이 든다.

I have received Combo card (EAD card) from Immigration last week, which means I can work legally now.

It made me realize that some time passed.

어제는 미국 온지 200일이어서 남편에게 200일 맞이 꽃을 사달라고 했다.

또 로우스갔는데 이번에는 정원 꾸미기용 꽃을 샀다.

Anyways, yesterday was my 200th day since I came back here.

So I asked my husband for flowers to celebrate with and we went to LOWE'S again.

여기는 상추 키우던 박스인데 여름이 되고 기온이 너무 높아져서

상추 맛이 텁텁하고 쓰길래, 그냥 다 뽑아버리고 꽃으로 장식하기로 했다.

This container was where my lettuce was.

My lettuce was just getting more and more bitter maybe because it's too hot these days.

So I pulled them out and decided to plant flowers.

이 꽃은 놀랍게도 백일홍, Zinnia 였다. 그리고 내가 바바라 농장가서 봤던 대부분 꽃들이 바로 이 꽃이었다.

This flower is -Zinnia- This is the same flower as Barbara's flowers.

Its Korean name means bloomed for 100 days.

제트스키 타러 갔을 때 옆 캠퍼에서 팔고 있던 천일홍을 시엄마가 사주셨다.

그러고보니 백일홍, 천일홍 둘다 있네 :)

조금 시들어져가는 지, 꽃잎이 우수수 떨어졌다. 

천일홍 꽃잎에는 씨앗이 들어있다는데 더 많이 펴주면 좋겠다.

My mom in law bought me Gomphrena globosa at the lake where we jet skied.

The funny thing is that this korean name means bloomed for 1000 days lol. 

It seemed like they were dying. the pedals fell off.

I heard it keeps the seed in the pedal, I hope they germinate.

아직도 정체모를 새싹으로 남아있는 이 것. 유칼립투스라고 생각하는데 조금 더 커봐야 알 것 같다.

비좁은 화분에 심어있어서 그런지 키가 많이 안자라길래 옮겨줬다.

I'm still not sure about this. Since I kept this in a dense pot, It didn't grow much.

I believe this is an eucalyptus.  

마치 민들레처럼 보이긴 하지만, 스타티스 (금어초)인데 얘도 많이 안자랐다.

여기서 꽃대가 아주 길게 위로 뻗어서 나와줘야 하는데 아직도 애기라니 ㅠㅠ

They look like dandelion. These statice didn't grow much either.

They are supposed to have very tall flower stalks already..

내가 200일 선물로 받고 싶었던 건 바로 러시안 세이지.

지난 번 극락조 샀을 때 발견한 애인데 마치 라벤더같은 모습에 가뭄에도 잘 견디고 번식력도 좋다고 한다.

심지어 허브라서 냄새도 향기로운데 약간 바질향 같기도 하다.

This flower is the reason why I wanted go to LOWE's.

Russian sage looks similar to lavenders, but they are strong in droughts. 

It's a herb so it smells good like basil.

나중에 집 생기면 입구에 러시안세이지를 많이 심어보고 싶다 :D

I wanna have a lot of this when I have my own house.
