스모키마운틴 국립공원 가는 길

편도 5시간 걸리는 테네시/노스캐롤라이나 국립공원 스모키마운틴 여행을 위해

차에 기름을 든든히 충전하고, 창문을 잘 닦아주었다. 

We put gas on car in order to drive for five hours to Smoky mountains.

Skylar wiped and scraped the windows.

이제 조지아 주는 거의 안방처럼 드나든다는..

마침 날씨도 엄청 맑아서 다행이었다.

Compared to going to Smoky Mountains, Georgia felt so close.

Also the weather was perfect for a trip.

우리가 첫번째로 정차한 곳은 바로 Ocoee 호수였다.

Our first stop was Lake Ocoee.

이번 년도 단풍은 아직인가 하고 걱정했는데 점점 붉어지는 나무들을 발견할 수 있었던 곳.

This was where trees started to turn red.

아침에 주유소 스크래퍼로 창문을 닦았더니 땟국물(?)이 차를 뒤덮는 바람에 휴지로 열심히 닦아주었다.

Skylar didn't scrape windows well, nasty and rusty water spots were everywhere on the car.

So he had to wipe with tissues.

건터스빌 호수만큼 아름다웠던 오코이 호수

This lake was as beautiful as Guntersville lake.

풍경과 잘 어우러진 야외 테이블이 있어서 사진도 몇장 찍어보았다.

There was an outdoor table that went along with the lake, we took some pictures of us.

갈 길이 먼데도 주변 풍경들이 아름답고 평화로워서 즐거운 운전이었다.

Even though hours of driving was still ahead of us, the driving was fun with the beautiful scenery.

아마 오코이 주변은 래프팅으로 유명한 듯 한데 또 댐이 있어서 물살이 강했다.

래프팅, 카약을 즐기는 사람들이 많아서 우리도 다음에 해보면 좋겠다고 생각했다.

There was a dam and we saw many people rafting and kayaking.

We thought it would be fun for us to raft there.

스모키국립공원은 엄청 큰데 보통 피존포지(Pigeon forge)라는 곳을 지나 개틀린버그에 도달하는 게 정석이다.

우리는 그것보다는 국립공원을 가로질러 개틀린버그에 가기로 했는데 그래서인지 막히지도 않고 운전도 편안히 할 수 있었다.

Great Smoky Mountain Park is so huge.

Most people get to Gatlinburg through Pigeon Forge.

But we took different route which was through the national park.

So there wasn't traffic jam.

This is our route to Gatlinburg.

점심은 Murphy 라는 도시에 위치한 월마트 주차장에서 해결 ㅋㅋ

차 안에서 챙겨온 간식거리를 먹는게 여행의 묘미같다.

시부모님께 빌려온 작은 보냉가방에 싸온 샌드위치와 감자샐러드.

We had lunch at Walmart parking lot in Murphy.

I sometimes enjoy snacking in car on trips.

We brought potato salad and sandwiches in my parent's in laws' small cooler.

국립공원 내 체로키 원주민 마을로 향해 고고고

We headed to eastern Cherokee reservation.
