미국 단풍여행 스모키마운틴 클링맨스 돔

스모키마운틴 국립공원은 차로 산을 돌아다닐 수 있도록 도로를 엄청 잘 정비해뒀다.

처음 도로를 깔았던 사람들의 노고에 감사를 드리게 된다.

I got amazed by well-maintained roads in Smoky mountain park.

I appreciated people who installed and maintained the roads.

Thanks to them, we can drive and see the beautiful mountains so conveniently now.

운전하다가 멋진 풍경이 보이는 곳이 나타날 때마다 주차공간에 차를 잘 댄 후 사진을 찍었다.

사람들이 막 사진찍고 있다 싶은 곳은 사진 잘 나오는 곳이므로 눈치 껏 포토스팟 찾기! ㅋㅋ

We pulled our car whenever we found good spots.

If there are places with many people taking pictures, that means that's a good spot to stop and look around.

우리가 갔을 때 단풍이 절정은 아니었지만 그래도 노랗게 노랗게 물든 스모키마운틴

When we went to Smoky mountains, all colored leaves hadn't been turned.

But it still looked pretty in many colors.

또 사람들이 많이 사진 찍고 있길래 멈춰서 풍경을 구경해본다.

We stopped at this place.

가을의 색깔로 물든 스모키마운틴.

이 다음으로는 스모키마운틴의 인기명소 클링맨스 돔으로 향했다!

Smoky mountains in fall colors were beautiful.

Next, we finally headed to Clingmans dome which is the most touristic place in Smoky mountains.

클링맨스 돔으로 향하는 길은 쉽지 않았다.

내려오는 길은 차로 꽉꽉 막혀있었고, 우린 다행이 늦게 올라간 덕분인지 올라가는 길은 전혀 막히지 않았다.

다만 두려웠던 건 갓길에 댄 차들이 많아 과연 정상에 주차공간이 남아있을까 하는 걱정 뿐.

It wasn't easy to get to Clingmans dome.

There were cars bumper to bumper on the way from Clingmans dome.

Fortunately, when we headed there, the way to top wasn't too crowded. 

We were just worried what if there were no parking spots left at Clingmans dome.

Because the closer we were getting there, the more cars were parked on side roads.

겨우 다다른 정상에는 주차공간을 찾는 차들로 빽빽.

정말 운이 좋게도 우리 앞에서 차 한대가 떠나서 그 자리에 차를 댈 수 있었다!!!

When we managed to get to the parking lot, there were so many cars looking for a spot.

How lucky we were, a car parked right ahead of us left. So we got to park our car.

클링맨스 돔이 위치한 스모키마운틴 정상의 모습은 가을보다는 겨울에 더 가까웠다.

이 곳에 오기 전 초여름 같았던 날씨는 온데간데 없고 가을의 끝자락 같이 급격하게 추워진 온도!

Before we got here, the weather was almost early summer.

The temperature suddenly got chilly.

클링맨스 돔을 가려면 0.8km의 가파른 언덕길을 올라가야 한다.

We had to walk over the 0.5 mile super steep hill to Clingmans dome.

꽤나 가파른 언덕길에 잠깐씩 쉬어가야 했던 우리...

We had to pause a few times.

exhausted looks.

스모키마운틴이 내려다보이는 멋진 전경들에 힘내서 올라가 본다.

The beautiful views cheered us up!

거의 다 올라와서 행복해짐;

I was relieved that the hill finally ended;;

드디어 도착한 클링맨스 돔.

우리는 트립어드바이저를 통해 클링맨스 돔이 이번 년도 리모델링에 들어갔다는 것은 알고 있었다.

전망대에 올라가보지 못한 것은 너무나 아쉬웠지만 안전이 가장 제일이니 다음 기회를 기약해본다.

(클링맨스 돔은 4월부터 다시 운영될 예정이라 한다.)

We already knew that Clingmans dome was closed till next April.

It was a shame that we couldn't look down on the mountains from the observatory.

But safety is the first priority. We took a rain check.

공사가 한참 진행 중인 클링맨스 돔을 뒤로 하고 떠나본다.

우리 뒤로 올라온 커플들은 리모델링 사실을 몰랐는지 무척이나 화가난 모양이었다;

하기사 올라오는 게 쉽지는 않았으니 백번 이해가 간다. 나였어도 화날 듯 ㅋㅋ

We headed back down to the parking lot.

Some couple wasn't aware of the remodeling. They seemed very upset.

I totally understood. Because it was very hard to get here;;

다시 주차장 근처로 내려옴

Around the parking lot.

위에 한번 다녀왔다고 귀가 엄청 차가워졌다.

Our ears got frozen.
