맛집 버디스 시푸드 마켓

사실 토요일 저녁으로 버디스라는 해산물 직판장에서 찐 새우를 사먹으려고 했는데 우리가 도착했을 즈음에는 여전히 식당은 열려있었지만, 해산물 쪄주는 시간은 이미 지났었다. 아쉬운 마음으로 다음을 기약했는데, 일요일 점심 다시 한번 도전해보기로 했다!
We attempted to get seafood from Buddy's on Saturday Night, when we arrived there the restaurant was still open but the steam bar was closed already. We headed back to the condo and were disappointed at the moment. But we decided to go there again on Sunday!
다행이 일요일 오전 날씨가 쾌청해 아침까지는 바다에서 물놀이를 즐기고 돌아왔더니 금새 지쳐버렸다. 스카일러가 버디스라는 해산물직판장에 혼자 가서 픽업해온다고 해서 완전히 지친 난 콘도에서 휴식을 취할 수 있었다. (버디스는 포장 밖에 되지 않는다.)
Thankfully, Sunday's weather was sunny in the morning. We swam in the water for about 1-2 hours and came back to the room. We got tired so easily. Skylar said he would pick up seafood from Buddy's so I could get some rest. (Buddy's Seafood Market is take out only.)
날씨가 이렇게 좋은데 너무 일찍 들어왔나 아쉽기도 했지만 그만큼 따라주지 않는 체력때문에 더 있었으면 몸살났을 것 같았다;
마지막 사진에 보면 호텔 옆에 빨간 깃발이 세워져 있는데 그 날 바다 물살에 따라 깃발 색이 바뀐다. 빨간색은 위험하지만 수영은 할 수 있다는 의미인데 안타깝게도 토요일에 어린 남자아이가 파나마시티비치에서 익사했다는 소식을 들었다. 언제든 거센 물살이 목숨을 앗아갈 수 있으니 조심 또 조심해야한다.
The weather looked perfect, we regretted coming back so early but I don't think I could have swam any longer than that. There is a red flag in the last picture. The color changes depending on how harsh the currents are. Red flag means you can still swim in the ocean but the currents are dangerous. Unfortunately a little boy drowned in the ocean in Panama City Beach on Saturday. It can literally kill you so you need to be very careful.
이게 버디스 해산물 직판장에서 사온 세상에서 최고 싱싱한 해산물들이다!! 케이준 쉬림프, 꽃게다리, 찐감자와 찐옥수수 그리고 버터까지!
This is the Buddy's Seafood feast--!! Cajun steamed shrimps, snow crab legs, boiled potatoes, steamed corn and melted garlic butter.
작년에 패티스라는 칼립소 콘도 뒤에서 팔던 잠발라야를 정말 정말 맛있게 먹었는데 버디스에서는 검보를 팔고 있어서 주문해보았다.
Last year when I was in Panama City Beach, I had jambalaya from Fatty's behind Calypso Condo. I loved it. So I wanted to try Buddy's Gumbo too.
스카일러가 말하기를, 새우 사이즈를 선택할 수 있었는데 이게 라지였다고 한다. 근데도 집어들면 거의 엑스라지 수준의 크기였다.
From what Skylar told me, he could choose a size and type of shrimps, these are large size! When I grabbed one, it almost looked like extra large!
처음 새우만 사려다가 발견해버린 크랩렉을 보고는 지나칠 수 없었던 게살성애자 스카일러. 1.5파운드의 스노우크랩을 사왔다.
He was going to buy only shrimps, but accidentally saw snow crab legs. He couldn't resist. So he brought 1.5 Lbs of steamed crab legs.
새우가 이렇게 싱싱할 수가 없었다. 크기도 크기지만 새우살이 아주 탱탱했다. ㅠㅠ
The shrimps were crazy~! couldn't be any fresher. The meat was perfectly steamed and it was so fresh that It almost felt chewy in a good way.
이렇게 해서 겨우 60달러가 나왔다. 양이 엄청 푸짐했고 시킨 것도 많았는데다가 최상급 퀄리티여서 그만한 가치가 있다고 생각했다. 파나마시티비치 여행을 계획 중이라면 꼭 한번 버디스에서 싱싱한 해산물을 사먹어보길 바란다.
So we paid 60$ for this feast. It was a huge amount and the quality was the best as well. If you're planning to go to Panama City Beach, I highly recommend trying their seafood.
검보는 딱히 내 스타일이 아니었다. 경험으로 추측하건데 난 잠발라야를 훨씬 더 좋아하는 것 같다. 스카일러는 이 검보 엄청 맛있다고 했다.
By the way, the gumbo wasn't my type. From my experience, I think I prefer Jambalaya to Gumbo. Skylar liked this gumbo.
마지막으로 게살 큰 덩이를 완벽하게 발라내서 자기 자신이 자랑스러운 남편 사진 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
At last, Skylar looks so proud of himself getting this big crab piece out of the leg.
