러셀피어 & 피어파크

Russell Pier & Pier Park in PCB, Florida

토요일 오후, 5시간 동안 해변에서 시간을 보내고 숙소로 돌아와 뭘 할지 생각을 하다가 러셀피어와 피어파크에 가보기로 했다.

Saturday afternoon, we weren't sure what to do after 5 hours of swimming. We decided to go to Russell Pier and Pier Park.

같으면서도 다른 그 시각 그 때의 파나마시티비치 모습

Panama city beach always stays the same but the things around it are always changing.

데이브 & 버스터즈 뒤 편에 차를 주차하고 피어파크를 가로질러 러셀피어까지 쭉 걸어가보기로 했다.

We parked our car behind Dave & Buster's and we were going to walk across the Pier park to Russell Pier.

쾌청한 여름의 파나마시티비치는 정말 어딜 찍어도 그림같다.

Every part of Panama City Beach in Summer looks like a painting!

피어파크 차량을 통제했길래 뭔일인가 봤더니 매년 5월마다 열리는 기네스 기록의 JEEP 퍼레이드가 있을 예정이었다.

They blocked the road and we saw the flag about Jeep parade every May!

우린 드.디.어. 스무디킹에 들러서 엔젤푸드를 사먹었다. 한국에 있을 때 자주 갔는데 오히려 미국에서 보기 힘든 스무디킹 생과일쥬스 ㅠㅠ 스카일러도 먹어보더니 엄청 맛있다며 본인이 더 먹은 것 같음.. 스무디킹에서 주문할 때 이름 알려달라길래 스카일러가 냉큼 본인 이름 말했는데 옆에 있는 여자 꼬마 이름도 스카일러여서 그 엄마가 자꾸 "스카일러! 줄 서야지 다른 사람 방해안되게!" 라고 혼내는데 정작 듣는 남편만 안절부절 ㅋㅋ

I had been wanting Smoothie King's smoothie (Angel Food) for a while. I used to get their drinks often back in Korea, but it's hard to find the stores in the US. Skylar tried it and he liked is so much that he even drank more than I did -_-. They asked for a name, Skylar told the lady his name. A girl's name there was Skylar too. Her mom scolded her saying "Don't get in people's way, Skylar!" and Skylar (my husband) was also in the girl's way lol. He felt to get scolded lol.

그렇게 또다시 찾은 러셀피어. 입장료는 인당 3달러로 총 6달러를 지불하고 들어왔다. 낚시를 할 경우에는 추가요금이 있는 걸로 안다.

We finally came back to this pier! The fee is 3 dollars a person so we paid 6 dollars. If you want to fish, you have to pay extra.

러셀피어 근처에 있는 해수욕장은 퍼블릭 비치로 애견동반 가능한 해변이다.

There are public beaches on both sides of the pier and they are pet-friendly.

해가 저물기 전 햇빛이 바다에 비친 모습이 너무 아름다웠다. 그만큼 햇살이 강렬해서 선글라스 없이는 눈을 제대로 뜨기 어렵기도 했다.

The beach looked beautiful by the sun went down. The sunlight was so bright that I couldn't open my eyes without sunglasses.

작년 시엄마, 시동생과 함께 왔을 때 칼립소 콘도를 배경으로 사진 찍은 것이 생각나 이번 년도에도 찍어보았다.

I remembered I took pictures with Calypso in the background last year so I did it this time again!

이번엔 낚시 하는 낚시꾼들이 러셀피어를 가득 메우고 있었다. 그들이 낚시대를 휘두를 때마다 낚시바늘에 찔릴까봐 걱정되고 무서웠다. ㅠㅠ

There were so many people fishing at the pier. Whenever they casted their fishing rod, I got afraid of getting hooked by its hook.

파나마시티에서는 헬리콥터도 자주 볼 수 있는데 헬리콥터 투어가 있다고 한다. 나는 무서워서 해보진 않을 것 같다.

You can find helicopters around Panama City Beach easily, I heard there's a helicopter tour? I don't think I would try it.

햇빛을 바라보고 선글라스 없이 사진 찍어보려 했지만 차마 이겨낼 수 없었던 없었던 여름 플로리다의 강렬한 햇빛...

I attempted to take pictures without my sunglasses, but I couldn't see anything without them.

아직도 내 등엔 작년 여름에 탔던 자국이 그대로다. 그래서 이번엔 래쉬가드 입고 손수건을 목에 두르고 챙이 넓은 모자까지 써서 만반의 준비를 했더니 다행이 타지 않을 수 있었다.

I still have a tan on my back from last Panama City Trip. So I wore a rash guard, having a handkerchief around my neck and wearing a gardening straw hat (which my parent's in law bought for me) not to get sunburned. It worked out!

사실 이 거리 건너편 피어파크 간판을 넘어서 포토존이 있는데 이번에 보니 이렇게 간판 건너편에서 사진을 찍는 게 훨씬 더 괜찮은 것 같다.

There is a photo spot over the Pier park sign, but actually taking picture across the sign looks wayyyy better.

우리 뒤로 지프 차 여러대가 지나가는 걸 보아 퍼레이드가 시작됐는데 그 끝이 보이질 않는다!!

We started to see jeeps driving behind us, it kept coming!

알고보니 기네스 최대 기록의 오픈카 JEEP 퍼레이드라고 한다. 그럴만도 한게 이 날 30분도 안걸릴 거리를 1시간 반이나 걸렸다.

Turns out, it was Guinness record for the longest topless Jeep car gathering. We could have come back to our condo within 30 minutes but it took us more than one and a half hours.
