6박 7일 스위스 여행 - 첫째날 & 둘째날

 A Cloudy Day in Zermatt

짐을 풀고 컵라면으로 끼니도 떼웠겠다, 본격적으로 마을을 둘러보기 위해 나섰다. 

We unpacked our luggage in the room and headed out to look around the village.

첫째날 체르마트 구경 Walking around Zermatt on the first day

스카일러가 아까 봐두었던 식료품점인 쿱에 가보자고 해서 다시 기차역 근처까지 걸어가보기로 했다.

Skylar wanted to go to the grocery store Coop so we walked back to the train station.

10분 조금 넘게 느긋히 걸으니 도착한 스위스 마트 쿱. 와인을 작은 플라스틱 용기에도 팔아서 가지고 다니기에 편하겠다고 생각했다.

We walked for about 10 minutes to get to Coop. I thought this plastic bottle of wine was super convenient to carry around.

내가 스카일러에게 스위스 가면 한국인들 많이 만날 거라고 했는데 믿지 않았었다. 막상 스위스 오니 우리 호텔 방 옆 손님도 한국인 가족이고 심지어 스위스 마트 쿱에 한국라면 전용 코너도 마련되어 있었다.

I told Skylar he would see so many Koreans in Switzerland, he wouldn't believe me. The guests next to our room were a Korean family and how many Korean visitors in Switzerland, there was a huge selection of Korean ramens in the largest grocery chain, Coop.

우리 방 오른편 스위트룸에는 아무도 묵지 않았던 모양이다. 반면 왼쪽 방에는 한국인 꼬마 아이가 저 칸막이 너머로 얼굴을 빼꼼 비추더니 쏜살같이 도망가기도 했다.

No one stayed in the suite room right to our room. In the other side of our room, a Korean kid stuck her head out of the divider and ran away lol.

이 사진을 마지막으로 시차 때문에 곯아떨어졌다.

아침에 마테호른에 비추어지는 일출을 보기 위해 들뜬 마음으로 커텐을 걷었는데 마테호른이 잘 보이지 않았다. 일기예보에서 흐릴 거라고는 했지만 이렇게 잘 안 보일 줄이야. 어제 많이 사진 찍어뒀으니 다행으로 여겨야하나 싶을 정도였다.

Next morning I was excited to see the sunrise hitting the peak. I knew the weather wouldn't be as good as yesterday but I didn't know it would look this cloudy. I was glad I took many pictures of the Matterhorn when I could clearly see it.

일출은 포기하고 아침이나 먹으러 로비로 내려왔다. 아침 준비가 늦어져 조금 있다 내려오라 해서 다시 방으로 올라갔다가 내려왔다.

I gave up on seeing the sunrise and went down to lobby for breakfast. It wasn't ready yet so we went back up to our room and came back down again.

몇몇 치즈는 꼬릿한 향이 꽤나 강해서 도전해볼 엄두도 나지 않았고 특히 살라미 종류가 많았는데 이것 또한 내 입맛에는 잘 맞지 않는 듯 했다. 테이블에 착석하자 커피를 따로 내어주는 것도 인상 깊었다.

I couldn't dare try some of the cheese that has very strong smell. They had a variety of Salami, but I found myself disliking it. They served us coffee after we were seated.

그나마 내 입맛에 맞았던 건 스크램블 에그와 베이크 빈.

I ate scrambled eggs and baked beans instead.

체크아웃 시간 전 짐을 다시 정리하고는 마을 아침산책을 해보러 나갔다.

We repacked our suitcases to prepare to check out and went outside to walk around the village one more time.

우리의 아침산책 주 목적은 바로 기념품 쇼핑이었다. 이 기념품 샵에서는 스위스 여행 기간 동안 벨라를 돌봐주신 시부모님을 위해 체르마트 스노우 볼을 구입했다.

The main purpose of the morning walk was to shop souvenirs. At this gift shop, I bought a Zermatt snow globe for in laws who took care of Bella during our Switzerland trip.

이 기념품 샵에서는 수집용 자석과 체르마트 티셔츠를 구입했다.

I bought a magnet for my collection and a Zermatt T-shirt.

마음 속의 마테호른을 배경 삼아 커플 사진도 몇장 남겨보기도 했다.

We took a few pictures together having invisible Matterhorn in the background.

도대체 저 거대한 크레인은 무엇을 위한 공사인가 하고 보니, 현수막도 한국어/영어 로 안내되어 있는 것이 아닌가! 새로운 전망대가 생길 모양인가보다.

I suddenly wondered what the giant crane was for and noticed those two banners in Korean and English. I guess they are building a new view point here.

전기차를 타고 다시 체르마트 기차역으로 향했다. 다음 목적지는 바로 '그린델발트'.

We took this electric car to head to Zermatt station. Our next destination is Grindelwald.

끝으로 그린델발트로 향하는 도중 잠깐의 차량 점검시간 덕분에 건진 사진.
