50 Tulip Bulbs 두 종류 튤립 50 구근 심기

어거드릴 날을 샀다. 한국말로는 정확히 뭐라 불리는 지는 모르겠지만, 구근을 심을 때 땅 파는 용으로 쓰이는 드릴 날이다. 새로 도착한 튤립 구근들은 이른 봄에 피는 글로벌디자이어라는 흰색 튤립 25개, 봄 중반에 피는 연한 노란색깔의 크림업스타라는 튤립 25개 총 50구근을 구매했다. 뜨개질 실로 어디에 심을 지 계획한 후 어거 드릴을 이용해 심었다.

I bought an auger drill bit. This drill bit is for planting bulbs. These tulip bulbs are 25 of white tulips -Global Desire- that bloom in early spring and 25 of light yellow tulips -Creme Upstar- that bloom in mid spring. I planned where to plant these with a string and made holes using with my drill.

 Itoh Peony Julia Rose 이토작약 줄리아로즈 심기

이토 작약은 목단과 작약의 교배종이다. 내가 구매한 이토작약의 종류는 줄리아로즈로, 시간의 변화에 따라 색깔이 점점 연하게 변하는 작약이다. 튤립과 마찬가지로 어거 드릴 날을 이용해 깊게 땅을 파서 새 순이 윗 쪽을 향하도록 심어주었다. 내 매트릭스 백합들은 거의 다 지고 두 송이만 남아있는 상태다.

This is Itoh peony. It is hybrid of tree peony and herbaceous peony. This Itoh peony's variety is Julia rose. It turns lighter color as it fades away. There are only two of my red carpet lilies bloomed left now.

White Tree Peony 백목단(흰색 모란)

오늘 목단을 배송 받자 마자 땅에 심었다. 먼데서 배송 오느라 스트레스를 많이 받았을 것이기에 얼른 땅의 기운을 받으라고 말이다. 목단은 처음 심고 꽃이 피기까지 1-2년이 걸릴 수 있다고 한다. 내년에 목단 꽃을 보면 제일 좋겠지만, 그게 아니라면 내후년까지 인내심을 가지고 기다려야할 것이다. 내가 구매한 건 흰색 모란(목단)인데 생각보다 큰 사이즈가 와서 놀랐다. 한국은 잘 모르겠지만 미국에서 목단 몸값이 꽤나 나간다. 특히나 이름있는 종은 100달러(10만원)넘는 것이 예사. 운이 좋게도 이 정도 크기의 브랜드 없는(?) 백목단을 28불 주고 구매했으니 괜히 운이 좋은 느낌이다. 심을 때 뿌리가 잘 내릴 수 있도록 영양제도 같이 듬뿍 주었다.

I received this tree peony. I planted it in the ground right away since it would have been stressed a lot traveling. It could take 1-2 years for it to bloom. It would be great if this tree peony blooms next spring, if not I would have to be patient until the next following year. This is a white tree peony. I was quite surprised by the size. Tree peonies are pricey in the U.S. Normally they cost about $100. Luckily I found this white tree peony at $28. I felt lucky. I made sure to put some plant food(fertilizer) so the roots will establish sooner.



Bleeding Heart 금낭화

백목단 뒤에 같이 심을 금낭화도 2개 구매했는데 뿌리로 올 지는 몰랐다.

I ordered two Bleeding hearts to plant behind the tree peony. I didn't know they would come in roots.

Lily of the Valley & Glory of the Snow 은방울꽃과 치오노독사



 은방울 꽃도 5개 화단에 더 심어줬다. 꼭 봄에 피어서 마당을 향기롭게 만들어줬으면 좋겠다. 치오노독사라는 알지 못했던 꽃이 샘플로 와서 같이 심어봤다.

I planted 5 more white lily of the valley in my flower bed. I hope they will come back in spring and make my garden so fragrant. I didn't know of glory of the snow. This was a free gift. I planted the small bulbs in my flower bed as well.
