우리 부부가 좋아했던 헌츠빌 한식당 신세계가 영업을 종료했다는 소식을 들었다. 우리가 좋아하던 한국음식점이 사라진다는 사실이 슬프지만, 음식점을 운영하시던 사장님들께서 한국에서 훨씬 편하고 나은 삶을 사시길 진심으로 바란다. ♡
Shinsegae, one of our favorite restaurants, has been permenantely closed. It is sad to lose a good restaurant but Skylar and I sincerely wish the owners and their family the best of luck in Korea.

미국에서 발렌타인 날 저녁 외식하는 건 엄청 힘들다. 예약을 대체 얼마나 일찍 해야하는 건지.. 그러다 떠오른 한식당!! 예약을 하지 않고 도저어언! 다행이 테이블을 바로 안내 받았지만, 정말 정말 붐볐다. 😲 신기하게도 백인커플들도 많이 와 있어서, 발렌타인데이에 한식을 먹으러 오는 분들이 나처럼 많아서 놀라우면서 좋았다.
It's really difficult to eat out at a restaurant without a reservation on Valentine's day here in America. I am not sure how early you should try to make a reservation. This idea came up on my mind. It was going to a Korean restaurant! I thought maybe we can have dinner at a Korean restaurant without a reservation. I was right. But when we got to this Korean restaurant, Shinsegae in Huntsville. It was almost packed already.
요거는 메뉴판. 오른쪽 날개 뒤편에도 음식이 더 있었고, 나는 오징어볶음을 시켰다. 오삼볶음을 먹고 싶었지만 그건 30불이란 가격의 압박 ㅜㅜ
This is menu. There were more dishes on the other side. I ordered cooked squid again. (We both ordered the same dishes as the ones we ordered at the first time here lol)
스카일러는 역시 불고기를 시켰고, 난 나름 떡볶이도 먹어보자고 시켰다. 식당이 정말 바빠서 사장님이 서빙하시는데 거의 날라다니셨다. 그 와중에도 웃음을 잃지 않는 모습이 프로다웠다. ㅎㅎ 주문이 많이 밀린 상태였고, 사람들이 떡볶이를 그렇게 많이 시키는 지 처음 알았다. 거의 모든 테이블에서 떡볶이를 기본으로 시킨듯했다.
Skylar of course ordered Bulgogi again. I ordered a Ttuk-bok-ki as an appitizer. It was super hectic in there, the owner was in hurry. But he was still smiling like a pro! I didn't know how popular Ttuk-bok-ki was. It seemed like every table ordered one.
기나긴 기다림 끝에 받은 우리의 떡볶이...❤ 스카일러가 약간 맵다고 했지만 달달한 편이다. 어묵을 순식간에 집어 먹었다. 난 어묵파 스카일러는 떡을 담당🙂 사이좋게 배를 채웠다.
After a long wait, we finally got our Ttuk-bok-ki. Skylar thought it was a bit spicy. But it was sweet kind Ttuk-bok-ki. I ate all the fish cake while Skylar was only eating the rice cake :D
그리고 얼마 지나지 않아 서빙된 우리의 발렌타인 디너😉 신세계는 아주 예전에 방문하고 정말 오랜만에 온 건데 더더욱 마음에 들었다. 바쁜 걸 감안하고서라도 음식도 정말 맛있고 주인분도 친절하셨다.
Our dishes were all served shortly! This is our Valentine's dinner. It had been 2 years since we came here. We liked this restaurant this time even better! Even though it was the busiest time of the year, the food was still great, and the owners were very nice as well.
오랜만에 먹는 오징어볶음!!!! 불맛이 강했다. 숙주도 들어가서 아삭아삭했다. 밥 한공기 뚝딱
I love spicy squid! It tastes smoky! It has bean sprouts in it, it gave more cruch taste.
요거는 스카일러 불고기. 엄청 맛있다고 했다. ㅎㅎ 우리 접시를 싹싹 비우고 계산하는데 사장아저씨가 스카일러한테 불고기 맛있었냐고 한국말로 물으셨다. 스카일러가 네 맛있었어요. 라고 했더니 과거형으로도 대답할줄 아냐며 엄청 좋아하시며 웃었다 ㅎㅎㅎㅎ 나도 뿌듯했다. 신세계에서 발렌타인 디너를 먹은 건 정말 좋은 선택이었다. 나도 잠시나마 한국에 돌아온 것 같은 기분도 느끼고, 한국인 손님들도 많이 계셔서인지 왠지 모르게 동질감도 느꼈다. 스카일러도 맛있다면서 또 다시 가야겠다고 그런다. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ ❤❤ 둘다 핵만족했던 앨라배마 헌츠빌 한식당 신세계 ❤❤
This is Skylar's Bulgogi. Skylar thought it was the best Bulgogi ever (He says this often, but he means it every time.) We cleared our dishes. On the way out, the owner asked Skylar how the Bulgogi was in Korean. Skylar answered him back it was good (in past tense.) in Korean. He was grinning and so happy to hear the answer in the correct tense lol. He said "Wow, you can even answer in Korean using past tense!" I was proud of my husband a little bit lol. It was such a good decision having dinner here at Shinsegae. There were many Korean people in there, it made me feel like I was in Korea. Skylar thought the food was really good and he wants to come back very soon. We both were very happy with the dinner. <3
