미국 임시영주권 기간인 2년이 지나고 영구영주권 진행 중에 있다. 서류 제출을 완료했고 《바이오메트릭스》라고 간단한 신체검사 같은 절차를 받으라는 통보가 왔다. 임영권 때 이미 해봤고 같은 곳에서 진행하는 거라 큰 부담은 없었다.
My green card is in processing. I needed to be at the immigration center for my biometrics in Birmingham, Alabama. I have already done it for my conditional green card about three years ago at the same place.
사실 처음 일정은 한달 전이었는데 가는 길에 타이어가 펑크나는 바람에 일정을 취소해야 했다. 다행이 이번에는 비가 조금 오긴 했지만 무사히 도착해, 일사천리로 끝내고 브런치를 먹으러 갔다.
Actually my original appointment was a month ago. On the way to the center, we got a flat tire. I really hated to cancel the appointment, I had no choice. It was about to explode. But we made it at the second appointment. It was really a short process and we headed to have a good breakfast at BBB.
이른 아침이었던 탓에 많은 레스토랑이 영업시간 전인 관계로 조식 위주로 찾아봤는데 이 곳이 딱 마음에 들었다. BBB라고 Big Bad Breakfast 줄인말인데 이민국에서 10분 내에 떨어진 곳에 위치하고 있었다. 건물 뒷편 주차장이 딱 한자리 빼고 만석이었음 ㅎ
Since it was early morning, many restaurants weren't open yet. That was how we started considering breakfast places. This restaurant Big Bad Breakfast was only 8 minutes from the immigration center.
조식 전문 식당답게 오전 7시부터 오후 2시 30분까지만 운영한다. 우리는 나란히 커피를 시켰다.
This restaurant opens at 7 A.M. and closes at 2:30 P.M.. We both ordered coffee.
나는 Skillet 메뉴 중 Low Country, 스카일러는 Big Bad Plate 를 주문했다. 둘 다 Gravy 를 추가했다.
And I got the Low Country Skillet and Skylar ordered the Big Bad Plate and we both added sausage gravy to our meals.
이렇게 준비된 우리의 조식 ❤ 조식치고 넉넉한 양이 마음에 든다. 특히 내 오믈렛은 통통한 새우와 계란 오믈릿, 다양한 야채가 조리되어 내 마음에 쏙 들었다. 스카일러는 딱 전형적 아메리칸 조식을 시켰다. 비스킷, 스크램블에그, 그리고 완전 바삭하게 구어진 베이컨과 그레이비까지! 스카일러 말로는 베이컨이 매콤했다고 했다. 너무 탄 것 같아 보여 탄 맛나지 않냐니까 엄청 맛있다고 해서 의아했는데, 나중에 알고보니 이 식당에서는 흑설탕과 매콤한 향신료를 이용해서 일반 베이컨보다 검게 보이는 것이라고 한다.
It was a lot for breakfast but this was also our lunch. My omelet had shrimp, many veggies together. Skylar's meal is a typical American breakfast.
스카일러 메뉴에 팬케이크를 선택할 수 있어서 야무지게 드셨다 ㅋㅋㅋ 나도 오믈렛을 먹고나니까 너무 배가 불렀다. 앨라배마 버밍햄에 온다면 BBB 와서 미국식 조식을 체험해보시길!!!!
And a pancake came with his meal! We both finished our breakfast and we really enjoyed it. I recommend having breakfast at this place if you come to Birmingham, Alabama.
