봄 기운을 느낀 영국장미 보스코벨이 잎사귀를 많이 달기 시작했다. 장미는 다 좋은데 진드기가 너무 많이 붙어서 요근래 진드기 퇴치용 스프레이를 구매해서 매일 같이 뿌려주고 있다.

English rose Boscobel is putting out many leaves. I like everything about rose except that there are many aphids underneath the leaves. I bought a aphids killer recently and have been spraying for the two roses every day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Daffodil Ice King 겹수선화 아이스킹

 

수선화 아이스킹은 시간이 지날수록 하얀색으로 색이 빠지고 이후에는 꽃크기가 줄어들고 갈변한다. 꽃송이를 다 잘라주고 하나만 남은 상황.

Daffodil Ice King is fading away and shrinking when the blooms are over. I have cut the other blooms and there is only one left.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Red Carpet Border Lily 키 작은 백합 매트릭스

 

작년 초가을에 심었던 작은 백합 매트릭스가 벌써부터 새순을 올리기 시작했다. 작년엔 가을에 폈던 이유가 내가 가을에 심어서 그렇고 원래는 봄에 핀다고 한다.

I planted these lilies last Fall. They are already coming above the ground. Actually these lilies bloom in the spring.

주드 디 옵스큐어도 시간이 갈수록 빠르게 잎을 달고 있다. 장미 꽃송이가 너무 기대된다.

Tulip Creme Upstar 튤립 크림 업스타

 

크림업스타 튤립은 검색해보면 좀 더 노란빛을 띄는데 내껀 거의 상아색? 거의 흰색이다. 아무래도 그늘에 있어서 그런지는 모르겠지만 내가 원했던 색깔은 아니다.

Tulip creme upstar isn't the color I expected. When I googled the pictures, they looked more yellowy. But it's almost white. Maybe it's because they are in a shady spot?

Heuchera Rio 휴케라 리오

 

휴케라 리오는 정말 만족스럽다. 잎사귀가 커서 보는 맛이 있다. 어제 비가 많이 오는 바람에 가운데 잎이 찢어진 건 함정

I am so happy with Heuchera Rio. Yesterday it poured a lot and it ripped one of the leaves.

Hosta Minuteman 호스타 미니트맨

 

샘스클럽에서 산 호스타 미니트맨은 100% 발아율에 심겨진 자리가 마음에 드는지 하루가 다르게 커지고 있다. 흰색 테두리가 수채물감으로 그라데이션한 것 마냥 예쁘다.

Hosta Minuteman must love the spot where planted. I planted eight of it and all are healthy. I love the white border so much. It looks like watercolor painting.

개화가 진행되면서 색이 진해지는 폭스트롯, 폭시 폭스트롯 튤립

 

요즘 마당의 마스코트는 바로 튤립 폭스트롯이다. 시간이 지나면서 색이 진해지는 특성상 여러가지 색을 즐길 수 있는 장점이 있다. 옆에서 보면 작은 키 덕분에 알사탕들이 오밀조밀 모여있는 것 같다. 내년에 더 심고 싶은 튤립이다.

My favorite part of the flower bed in March is tulip Foxtrot and Foxy Foxtrot. Their color getting stronger as they bloom. Because they have all different colors, they almost look like colorful candy.

튤립 안젤리크도 개화를 시작했다. 폭스트롯 개화 초기에 비해 조금 더 진한 분홍으로 피어난다.

This is tulip Angelique. This blooms more pink compared to an early bloomed tulip Foxtrot.

Pink Gaura 바늘꽃(가우라)

 

가우라는 작은 꽃도 정말 매력적이지만, 꽃을 달기 전 잎사귀 색만으로도 화단에 생기를 불어 넣어준다. 초록 잎과 버건디 색이 오묘하게 조화된 모습이 너무 예쁘다. 

Gaura's leaves are really interesting. The color combinations are beautiful.

This peony wasn't as big one week ago. This peony is growing really fast.

우리집 귀염둥이 아메숏 벨라는 내가 화단에 나가있으면 꼭 창가에 와서 구경한다.

Kwanzan Cherry Tree 콴잔 벚꽃나무

 

겹 벚꽃나무로 알려진 콴잔 나무도 잎이 나오고 있다. 하루빨리 우리집 마당에서 벚꽃을 구경하는 날이 왔으면 좋겠다.

I recently bought a cherry tree at Lowe's. This Kwanzan cherry tree is making new leaves. I can't wait to see its flowers soon.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Birdbath 버드배쓰

 

새들을 위한 음수대인 버드배쓰는 현재 '버그'배쓰로 사용되고 있다. 태양열 펌프를 사서 분수대로 바꿔봤다.

This birdbath was used by bugs. I got a solar water pump to use this as a fountain.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 지금은 햇빛이 별로 안들어서 수압이 약한데 해가 쨍한 날에는 엄청 높게 쏘아올린다고 한다.

It's not very sunny today. When it's sunnier, the pump can shoot out water much higher.
