스모키마운틴 국립공원 야생 흑곰을 만날 수 있는 곳

두번째 날 주요 일정을 고르는 데 고민이 많이 되었다.

개틀린버그에서 피죤포지의 놀이공원 더아일랜드를 보러 갈 것이냐,

개틀린버그에서 스모키마운틴 케이즈코브를 보러 갈 것이냐 

한참의 고민 끝에 결정한 곳은 바로 케이즈코브. 

국립공원에 왔으니 풍경을 더 즐겨보자는 결정이었다.

It took a while for us to decide where to go on the second day between The Islands in Pigeon forge or Cades Cove.

We finally decided to go to Cades cove and enjoy more scenic.

케이즈코브 가는 길에 우연히 발견한 계곡, 

On the way to Cades cove, we found this valley.

역시나 물이 맑고 수심이 얕아서 여름에 가족단위로 오면 좋겠다는 생각이 들었다.

The water was crystal clear and it was low so I thought this would be a perfect place for family in Summer.

힐링 그 자체

Skylar got refreshed and relieved stress on this trip.

평평한 돌이 많아서 계곡에 돌 튕기기 하면서 놀았다.

We threw flat rocks into the water.

본격적으로 케이즈코브로 향하는 길

To Cades Cove

케이즈코브는 스모키마운틴에 위치한 넓은 초원이다.

Cades cove is a huge field in the Smoky mountains.

케이즈코브에서 흑곰을 만날 확률이 매우 높다고 하는데 그도 그럴 것이 우리도 바로 위 사진 장소에서

아기 곰이 엄마 곰을 향해 달려가는 것을 목격했다.

카메라가 잡아내지 못할 거리라 아쉬웠지만, ㅠ 

진짜 "야생"곰이 달리는 모습을 보다니 !!

I heard the chance of seeing black bears in Cades cove is high.

We did see a cub running towards his mom which is in the last picture.

Endless scenic mountain views

케이즈코브는 도로가 루프형식이라 운전해서 한바퀴 둘러보고 나올 수 있게 되어있다.

그 가운데 지점에는 관광안내센터가 위치해있다.

Cades cove road is a loop and at the half point, there is a visitor center.

잠깐 차을 세우고 경치를 구경하며 시간을 보냈다.

광량이 엄청나서 눈이 부셨다.

이 풍경 사진이 너무 멋져서 인쇄해서 엽서로 가지고 싶다 (!!)

We pulled over the car and spent some minutes for the views.

The view was so beautiful that I wanna print out these pictures as postcards :)

그렇게 반바퀴 돌아 도착한 비지터센터

관광객이 워낙 많은지라 여기 주차장에도 주차가 쉽지는 않았지만 

역시 운이 좋았는지 우리 앞 차가 떠나서 주차를 할 수 있었다.

We arrived at the visitor center.

It was not easy to find a parking spot, how lucky we were again, one car ahead of us just left right on time.

이 곳에 기념품 샵도 있었다.

개틀린버그에서 맘에 드는 자석을 찾지 못했는데 과연 이 기념품 가게에는 맘에 드는 자석이 있을까했는데

다행이 마음에 드는 자석을 하나 발견할 수 있었다.

또 엽서를 모으는 시엄마를 위해 곰 엽서도 하나 구매했다.

There was a gift shop at the center.

I couldn't find any good magnet at Gatlinburg.

I was doubting that I'd find one there.

But I found one cute magnet and got a blackbear postcard for my mother in law.

갑자기 차가 밀리길래 보니 저 들판에 야생 사슴 두마리가 있었다.

케이즈코브는 야생 그대로의 동물들을 구경하는 재미가 톡톡하다.

Suddenly there was a traffic jam because two wild elks were in the field.

One of fun things in Cades cove is watching wild animals.

여기저기 흑곰을 찾아 스캔해도 보이지 않자 기대를 접고

'그래도 우리 엄마곰 아기곰 아주 멀리서 보기는 봤다.' 라고 생각할 때쯤

We scanned every part for bears.

But the loop was almost over.

So we consoled each other saying "We did see two wild bears very far away;;;"

도로 바로 옆에 나타난 야생 흑곰;;; 당황

우리가 흑곰을 만났을 때는 적은 수의 사람들만 곰을 발견한 상태에서

남편이 "주차해서 보러갈까?" 했을 때 "응응으응ㅇㅇㅇ!!!!" 흥분의 도가니

All of a sudden, a wild black bear showed up right next to the road!!!!!

Only a few people had found the bear so there was not very traffic then.

Skylar asked If I wanna stop and go look at it, I screamed "YESSSSSSSSSS"

부리나케 달려갔더니 이제 막 독립한 어린이 야생 곰이었던 것!!!!!

I hurried and there was a young black bear !

보통 어미곰과 아기곰이 있으면 곰들이 예민하다는데

이렇게 독립한 어린이곰은 사람들 의식도 하지 않고 베리를 찾아 아주 평안하더라 !! ㅋㅋ

Usually it can be dangerous when there are mama bear and her cubs,

But this one seemed to have left her mother.

And this one didn't mind people but looked for berries.

야생 곰이랑 셀카도 남기고 동영상도 찍고 이제 떠날 준비를 했는데

사람들이 하나 둘씩 야생 곰 보겠다고 느릿 느릿 운전하는 바람에 

공원레인저가 달려와서 교통정리를 했다. ㅋㅋ;

그동안 내가 본 곰이라곤 동물원 우리에 갇혀 불쌍하게 사는 곰들 뿐이었으니 ㅠㅠ

와 진짜 처음으로 야생곰을 본 감격이 어마어마했다.

We took videos and selfies with the bear,

we were about to leave.

By the time there was a lot of traffic on the road because all people wanted to see the bear.

Park ranger finally came to make people leave lol.

This experience was indescribably amazing.

Because this was my first time to see wild bears not in a zoo.

케이즈코브를 가기로 했던 것은 신의 한 수였다.

이번 스모키마운틴 국립공원 여행은 모든 게 다 완벽해서 정말 행복하고 힐링 그 자체였다.

I'm glad we chose Cades cove over The islands.

This trip was such a refresh.
