뉴욕여행 일본 라멘 잇푸도

& 세인트 패트릭 성당

숙소를 맨하탄 미드타운에 위치한 옴니버크셔 플레이스 호텔로 옮기고 나서 첫끼로 일본 라멘을 먹기로 했다. 스카일러가 일본 라멘을 한번 먹어본 뒤로 엄청 좋아해서 뉴욕에 위치한 일본 라멘집들을 알아보니 잇푸도 라는 곳이 세계 여러 군데에 있는 맛집인 것 같아 도전해보기로 했다. 그 전에 앞서 세인트 패트릭 성당이 숙소에서 거의 한블럭 정도 밖에 떨어져있어 한번 들어가보기로 했다. 작년엔 저녁에 지나쳐서 성당 외관만 볼 수 있었는데 이번에 우리가 갔을 때에는 미사가 한창이었다.

We chose "Ippudo Ramen" for the first meal in Manhattan after we moved to Omni Berkshire Place Hotel in Midtown. Skylar likes Japanese Ramen. So I looked for a good Japanese ramen place in NYC. It seemed like Ippudo is a world-wide ramen chain. Before that, we checked out St.Patrick Cathedral since it was only a block away from our hotel.

성당 끝 쪽에는 관광객들이 붐비고 있었고 미사를 드리려면 소지품 검사를 통과하고 들여보내주는 것 같았다. 우리는 별 관심이 없어서 사진만 좀 찍고 나왔다.

There were so many tourists in the cathedral. They check your belongs in your bags and let you go in. We weren't that interested so we just took some photos and headed out.

잇푸도 라면은 뉴욕에도 지점이 여러군데 있는데 숙소에서 가까운 잇푸도 5번가 지점에 가기로 했다. 늦은 점심이었는데도 대기가 있어서 길게는 아니지만 한 6분 정도 기다려야했다.

Ippudo has a few branches in NYC. We went to this one on 5th ave. Even though it was a late lunch, there was a bit of a wait.

손님이 들어갈 때마다 일본어로 "이랏샤이마세~~!!!"라고 크게 외쳐준다. 테이블이 굉장히 가깝게 붙어있었지만 그마저도 뉴욕같은 대도시의 매력이다. 우리는 복도 끝 구석자리로 배정받았다. 내가 제일 좋아하는 구석 테이블 ㅋㅋ

Whenever people walked in the restaurant, all the workers shouted "Irasshaimase!!!!!" (meaning Welcome in Japanese) The tables were so close but I think it's a charm of Big Cities like NYC. We sat at the table at the corner. I like sitting at a table at a corner lol.

스카일러는 서버분께 가장 유명한 라면이 뭐냐고 묻자 두번째 메뉴인 아카마루 카사네? 라면을 주문했고 나는 매운 라면인 카라카 스파이시 카사네에 우마미 에그를 토핑으로 얹어 주문했다.

Skylar asked the server which ramen is the most popular and she said it's AKAMARU KASANE RAMEN. So he got the one, and I ordered a spicy ramen KARAKA KASANE with Umami Egg.
