[미국가드닝] 1월 뒷마당 작약, 벚꽃나무 근황 Gardening Updates for Backyard

Double Peony

뒷마당에 심어뒀던 작약이 1월인데도 그 크기를 키워나가고 있다. 내 기억이 맞다면 이게 작년 10월에 심은 작약이다.

This is a peony I planted last October. Even though it's still middle of winter, it's growing.

 

 

 

Kwanzan Cherry Tree

 

작년 여름에 심어서 잎사귀 하나 보지 못한 채로 겨우 내 같은 모습을 간직했던 콴잔 겹벚꽃 나무. 아직도 살아있는 건지 긴가민가 하지만, 나무 끝이 밝은 색으로 변하고 있는 걸 보니 다가오는 봄을 준비하는 것 같기도.........?

This cherry tree was planted last Summer. I haven't seen any leaves since then. I am still not sure whether it's alive or not, but the tips of branches are turning brighter. Maybe that's a sign of life?!

 

 

 

 

 

오랜만에 들른 미국 가드닝 센터 로우스에는 구근 식물들이 정말 많았다!!

I went to Lowe's and they had many verieties of bulbs on sale.

 

 

욕심 같아서는 다 집어오고 싶었지만, 참고 참아서 여기서는 은방울꽃만 사기로 했다.

I wish I could buy all the bulbs here, but I only picked a bag of Lily of the Valley from this shelf.

 

 

 

 

이 날 구매한 것은 아직 한번도 키워본 적 없는 다알리아의 구근과 은방울꽃, 두가지 꽃 씨앗, 멀치와 상토 정도를 사고 25불을 지불했다. ㅎㅎㅎ 얼른 봄이 되어서 더 더 더 많이 사고 싶다. 가드닝 욕심은 끝이 없나보다. ㅠㅠ

I ended up buying a Dahlia bulb, Lily of the Valley, two different seeds, mulch and top soil for 25 dollars. I hope Spring will come soon.
