버드배쓰 설치, 콴잔 겹벚꽃 심기, 수레 화분 꾸미기 | 3월 미국 가드닝

오늘 비가 잠깐 그친 사이에 미국 최대 가드닝센터인 로우스(Lowe's)에 다녀왔다. 역시 봄이 오는지 가드닝센터에 새로운 꽃과 나무들이 가득가득해서 눈이 핑글핑글 돌아갔다. 🤑
We went to Lowe's when it stopped raining. There were so many pretty flowers and trees in stock at Lowe's.

 

도자기(?)화분들

 

로우스 입구에 정말 예쁜 화분들이 진열되어 있었다. 저 민트색 화분이랑 황토색 화분은 언젠가 꼭 사고싶다 🙆‍♀️
Pretty pottery pots were displayed at the entrance. I want the mind color pot and the clay color one 🙊

 

 

오십불이 안되는 가격에 이렇게 큰 일본 단풍나무를 살 수 있다니 🤨 내 작은 단풍나무랑 비교하게 된다. 참느라 혼났네 (뒤에 반전 ㅋㅋ)
I couldn't believe how reasonable this price for this big Japanese maple tree was here 🤨

다알리아

 

다알리아는 평소에 별 관심이 없었는데 꽃 핀 것 보니까 저절로 손이 갔다... 그래서 샀다 🛍
I wasn't very into Dahlias. But these were really pretty.

 

 

복숭아 나무인데 매화 꽃 같지 않나? 정말 정말 예쁜데 오늘은 패쓰. 꽃이 지고 난 후 잎 모양이 매력이 없다.
This is a peach tree. The flowers are so cute. But the leaves aren't as pretty.

로우스에 예쁜 휴케라랑 다양한 식물들이 많았다. ㅠㅠㅠ 부자였으면 싹쓸이해갔겠지~~
If I was rich, I would have bought all of these !

단풍나무 대신에 집어온 콴잔 겹벚꽃 나무 ^^; 사실 이 나무는 우리 집 뒷마당에 작년 여름에 심었는데 아무래도 죽은 건지 새싹의 흔적조차 발견할 수 없었다. 로우스에서 본 콴잔 겹벚꽃은 이미 새 잎이 돋아나있고 이렇게 큰 사이즈에 겨우 28불밖에 되지 않아서 사게 되었다. 앞으로 벚꽃이 필 때 너무 너무 예쁠 것 같다.
I ended up buying a cherry blossom tree. I actually have the exactly same tree in my back yard. But it seems dead 🤦‍♀️ I couldn't find any new buds. The same trees at Lowe's had new leaves and flower buds. And the price was only $28! No reason not to buy one 😂

 

로우스에서 발견한 예쁜 도자기 화분 대신에 사온 플라스틱 화분 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 가성비 넘치니깐 🤦‍♀️ 콴잔 나무를 심기 전, 드릴로 구멍을 많이 만들어준 후 심었다.
I made many drains on the bottom of this planter before transplanting the cherry tree.

버드배쓰(새 음수대) Bird Bath

지금은 벚꽃나무가 안펴서 썰렁해보이는 건 사실

그리고 로우스에 간 진짜 목적은 버드배쓰였다. 새를 위한 음수대인데 사실 진짜 새를 위해서 산 건 아니고 ^^; 여기에 태양열 펌프를 넣으면 분수대처럼 물을 뿜게 만들 수 있고 그러면 물 흐르는 소리를 들을 수 있어서다. 😂 이 버드배쓰는 콘크리트로 만들어져있어서 엄청 무거웠다 ㅋㅋㅋ 딱 하나 남은 디자인 골라왔는데 마음에 든다. 나중에 벚꽃나무가 피면 더 예쁠 것 같다.
The real reason I went to Lowe's was to get a birdbath. It's not for birds. I want to add a solar water pump in it and I want to enjoy the water sound. This birdbath is made of concrete. It was heavy to carry. I love its looks. Once the cherry tree blooms, they are going to look great!

분수대가 있으면 제일 좋겠지만 설치나 전기비나, 청소하는 게 너무 복잡할 거 같아 버드배쓰로 시작해보고 싶었는데 마음에 드는 콘크리트 버드배쓰를 찾아서 만족스럽다.
Having a fountain will be the best. But thinking about how to install, how to clean and price of maintenance is a headache. I wanted to start with a birdbath which is easier to clean and maintain.

이렇게 사용할 수 있다는 점 😏 근데 조만간 비가 계속 내릴 예정이라 이런 모습을 보려면 더 기다려야한다. 그리고 이 곳 앨라배마 앞마당 뒷마당에서 보는 새도 한국 새랑 꽤 다른데, 은근 귀엽다. (새 별로 안 좋아하는 1인) 빨강새랑 파랑새가 진짜 많이 보임 🙊

그 다음으로는 차고 옆에 화단을 꾸미고 싶었는데 땅을 파기보다는 기존에 가지고 있던 마차 화분을 활용하기로 했다. 로우스에서 산 다알리아와 작은 흰꽃으로 꾸며보기로 결정!
Next thing I did was decorate this wagon planter.

완전 큰 노란 다알리아가 눈을 사로잡는다 😍 핑크 다알리아도 곧 만개할 예정. 그럼 더 더 예쁘겠지? 출퇴근할 때 차고에서 나올 때 쓰레기통 대신에 ^^; 예쁜 꽃들을 보게 되면 더 기분이 좋아질 거라 생각한다.
The yellow dahlia is eye-catching. This will be first thing to see when we pull our car out of the garage. We will love to see pretty flowers!

 

 

미국 시골에서의 또 다른 하루를 소중하게 보냈다. ☺️
