I dug this litte area last winter to plant peony bareroots. I wanted to extend it this spring to turn it into an actual flower bed. It took me a lot of time and work.
작년 겨울, 작약을 심으려고 조그맣게 땅을 파놓았는데 봄을 맞아 본격적으로 정식 화단으로 만들어보았다. 엄청난 노가다가 들어가는 작업이었지만 하고 나니 정말 뿌듯하다.
~ 아래는 땅 파는 과정 ~
I manually dug this whole area with a shovel all myself. This job took the majority of time. It took me months to get this done. (I wasted half of the time only thinking about it. lol)
삽으로 잡초밭이었던 땅을 다 파냈다. 이 작업이 너무 힘들어서 가장 많은 시간이 소요됐다. 완성하기까지 몇개월이 걸렸다.
I replaced the humming bird feeder with this solar hanging lantern. Because I didn't see any humming birds this year. Maybe next year I might spot some in my yard.
화단 조성 작업 중간에 버드배쓰(새 음수대)와 벌새용 먹이통을 설치했다. 벌새는 결국 보이지 않아 먹이통 대신 태양열 조명을 달기로 결정했다.
I bought this hose stand to keep the water hose organized.
호스가 여기저기 난장판이라 호스걸이를 주문했다. 훨씬 보기에 깔끔해졌다.
Now I have another flower bed, I will be posting about gardening much more going forward.
이제 새 화단이 생겼으니, 앞으로 화단 이야기는 더 배로 증가할듯...ㅎ!!
After I plant a couple of plants here, I am going to mulch this flower bed to make it look tidy.
일단 꽃을 더 심고 나면 상토로 덮어서 화단이 좀 더 깔끔하게 보이게 할 거다.

I thought I could get this flower only online and ordered 3. I found 6 of this at Lowe's... I couldn't help getting the best one with flowers.
엄청나게 희귀한 식물인 줄 알고 온라인으로 3개나 주문했는데 (오고 있는 중;) 가드닝센터 로우스에 갔더니 꽃핀 아가팬서스가 떡 하니 진열되어 있었다. 집어올 수 밖에 없었음;
This is my first salvia. It looks perfect in front of the birdbath.
보라색 샐비어는 처음 사보는데 버드배쓰 앞에 놓으니까 딱이었다. 색깔도 은은해서 예쁨!
I was surprised that Lowe's had some David Austin roses on sale. I didn't know they sell these English roses. David Austin only ships their roses in Fall or spring, so once you miss ordering time you have to wait until next season. I was so happy to find their roses at Lowe's. Lowe's had only two varieities. One was this light yellow rose and the other one was burgundy rose. I originally liked the burgundy one better. Skylar convinced me to get this one. I am so glad I did. It looks good with other plants.
또 한가지, 로우스에서 발견하고 놀랐던 식물! 영국장미 데이비드오스틴의 더 포엣츠 와이프. 로우스에서 파는지 처음 알았다. 안그래도 데이비드오스틴 주문 기간을 놓치고 나면 가을이나 내년 봄까지 기다려야했는데, 마침 우리 동네 로우스에서 딱 두 종류의 데이비드 오스틴 장미가 판매 중이었다. 다른 하나는 다르시버셀(Darcey Bussell)로 버건디 장미였는데 사실 이게 좀 더 끌렸다가 스카일러가 연노랑인 더 포엣츠 와이프가 났다고 해서 마음을 바꿨었다. 정말 다행인게 연노랑이라서 다른 식물들과 훨씬 더 잘어울린다!! 4월 초에 장미 꽃을 보다니.. 넘 행복 ><
This flower is Foxgolve, biannual. This varietie is not common, so I had to buy one when I saw this at Lowe's. I should have bought two though.
이것은 폭스글러브라고 이년생 꽃이다. 크기가 엄청 커서 고민했는데, 이 색깔이 흔치 않은 종류라서 집어왔다. 사실 하나 더 사올걸 후회 중이다. ㅎㅎㅎ (검색해보면 진분홍 종류가 가장 흔함)
Veronica (Speedwell) has a lot of varieties. This one grows about 16 inches. Perfect size for borders. I bought three white ones.
베로니카(스피드웰)도 종류가 참 다양한데, 이건 적당한 크기로 자라서 화단 앞 쪽에 놓아주면 엄청 예쁘다고 한다. 하얀색으로 세개 사봤다.
I accidentally stepped on this maple tree when I bought it, and broke the longest branch. I didn't expect this to stay alive over the winter. This is making a lot of new leaves! The body is as small as a finger nail lol, you can't even see the body because it's covered with leaves.
이 단풍나무는 심고 나서 실수로 발로 밟아서 가지를 반절로 뚝 잘라먹은; 일본 단풍이었다. 되살아날거란 기대도 없었는데, 이번 봄에 폭풍성장 중이다. 잎을 어찌나 많이 내는지 손톱만한 몸통이 보이질 않음!! ㅋㅋ 예쁘다.
I hadn't had a geranium before. When I touched the leaves, they were really soft. The leaves were like maple trees'. They even flower.
제라늄은 처음 사봤는데 휴케라처럼 매니아층이 두꺼운 식물 같았다. 저 잎을 만져봤는데 너무 부드럽고, 단풍나무 같은 잎을 가지고 있어서 매력적이라 생각했다. 빨간 꽃까지 피는 모양이던데 그러면 정말 귀여울듯.
I was too busy to blog digging the ground. Now it's done, I think I should be able to post more often.
땅 파느라 블로그를 자주 못올렸었는데 이제 젤 힘든 과정이 끝났으니까 자주 올릴 수 있을 듯 ㅎㅎㅎ 끝!
