New York Vietnamese restaurant SAIGON MARKET

뉴욕여행 이틀차 먹부림 사이공마켓

뉴욕 사이공마켓은 유니온스퀘어파크와 워싱턴스퀘어파크 사이에 있는 베트남 음식점이다.

Saigon Market, which is a Vietnamese restaurant, is located between Union Square park and Washington Square park.

남편은 한번도 베트남 쌀국수를 먹어본 적기도 하고, 뉴욕에 온 겸 다양한 아시안음식들을 먹여보고 싶었다.

My husband hadn't tried Vietnamese food before.

I wanted him to try lots of Asian food in New York.

사이공마켓은 네이버블로그에도 맛집으로 유명해서 한국인들에게 무난하게 호평을 받고 있는 식당이라면,

남편도 좋아할 거 같아서 가게 된 곳이다.

I wanted to go to the restaurant since the restaurant's reviews were not bad on Naver.

자리 안내를 해주셨는데 흡사 바에 온 듯한 비쥬얼이었다.

처음 들어가면서도 지금 영업하는 거 맞나? 하고 갸우뚱 했다는.

They led us to this table next to the bar table.

We were confused whether they were open or not, even while entering the restaurant.

Because it was so dark inside. 

저 바테이블 넘어로 한국인 아주머니 아저씨 단체손님이 있더라.

그래서인지 우리를 창가 쪽으로 안내한 듯 싶었다.

I saw a group of middle aged korean people over the bar table.

That's why the waiters led us to sit by the window.

베트남음식점에 왔으면 당연히 쌀국수를 시켜봐야지.

남편도 쌀국수 시킨다는 걸 그냥 다른 메뉴 시키게 하고 쌀국수는 라지로 시켜서 같이 나눠먹자고 했다.

Whenever I go to a Vietnamese restaurant, I must order a Pho.

He wanted to get one for himself but I convinced him to share mine just in case he didn't find it good.

So we ordered a large size Pho.

남편은 숙주를 처음 보고는 엄청 프레시한 맛이라며 감탄했다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

He got impressed by how fresh the bean sprouts were.

숙주를 왜 줬는지 영문도 모르는 남편. 'ㅅ'

쌀국수에 넣어먹으라고 주신거야. 라고 알려줬다.

He had no idea why they served us the bean sprouts.

I told him they were for the pho.

난 고수를 안좋아해서 고수 없이 달라고 주문했지만,

나보다 입맛 까다로운 남편은 고수도 잘 먹어서 항상 의문이다.

I ordered it without cilantro.

I never understand how my pickiest husband can enjoy cilantro.

오랜만에 먹는 쌀국수라 감동의 눈물이~~

It had been a while since I ate Pho. T_T

남편이 시킨 건 포크찹인데, 맛은 흡사 양념돼지갈비 맛이다.

양이 엄청 많았다. 맛도 있고 아까워서 배부른데도 다 먹었다 T-T

My husband got the Pork chop that tasted like.. Korean Seasoned BBQ (sweet)

It was a lot. Even though we were full, we finished them.

포크찹을 시키면 공기밥도 한공기 나온다. XD

A bowl of rice comes along with the pork chop.

처음 시도해본 베트남 쌀국수였지만, 남편은 곧 잘 먹고 또 좋아했다.

한국인 단체 관광객들도 찾는 걸로 보아서는 아마 한국인들 사이에 굉장히 유명한 맛집인 듯 하다.

He liked Vietnamese food even though that was his first time trying it.

I guess this restaurant is so popular with Koreans since even korean groups were eating there.

남편의 평점도 ★★★★☆ 4점/5점
