Broadway musical CATS lottery, Totto ramen

뉴욕 브로드웨이 뮤지컬 캣츠 로터리 당첨, 뉴욕 일본라멘 맛집 토토라멘

갑작스레 캣츠 뮤지컬 로터리에 당첨이 된 우리는 서둘러 브로드웨이로 향했다.

나중에 확인해보니 정가에서 1/4 밖에 안되는 가격으로 티켓을 구매한 거였더라.

My husband won the lottery for CATS, so we hurried to the CATS theater.

We got the tickets at 25% of the price.

로터리가 당첨된 사람들은 따로 줄을 선다.

시간의 여유가 있었더라면 카메라를 호텔에 두고 왔을텐데 갑자기 당첨된 터라 생각할 경황이 없었다.

다행이도 카메라는 반입금지가 아니었고 에티켓을 가지고 공연 중 촬영만 하지 않으면 된다.

People who won the lottery waited in a different line.

We would have stopped by the hotel to leave our camera there, but we didn't have enough time.

Fortunately you could bring your camera in the theater. 

여기가 로터리 당첨된 사람들이 티켓발권을 기다리는 곳이다.

우리 말고도 적지 않은 수가 로터리에 당첨이 되었지만 여전히 행운이라고 생각한다.

This is where people who won the lottery wait.

There were a few people besides us.

티켓을 발권받고 지정된 좌석에 착석했는데 생각보다 가깝고 중앙 좌석이라 꿀이었다.

1~2층으로 구성된 소극장이어서인지 더 몰입하기 쉬웠다.

심지어 우리 줄에는 우릴 포함하여 4명밖에 착석하지 않은 데다가 우리 앞 2줄은 공석이어서 시야가 확 트였다.

Our seats were better than we expected.

The theater is a two story building. 

Since it was much smaller than the lion king theater, it helped us to focus better.

in the 2 rows in front of us there were no people. So we could see the musical better.

뮤지컬 1부가 종료되면 올드 듀터러노미가 팬서비스 차원에서 포토타임을 갖게 해준다.

나는 2부 마지막에 모든 고양이와 사진촬영할 수 있다는 얘기를 듣고 그냥 기다렸는데 현실은 그런 거 없었다. ㅠㅜㅜ

During the intermission, the Old Deuteronomy let people take pics with him on the stage.

I was waiting for the musical to end because I heard that you can take pics with the all characters. But that was a rumor. T_T

▲우리가 직접 본 배우들, 뮤지컬 캣츠 맛보기 / spoilers.

사실 라이언킹 뮤지컬을 보고 난 이후여서 아무리 캣츠가 유명하다 한들 우리의 기대를 뛰어넘을 수 있을까 했는데

라이언킹은 무대연출이 정말 최고라고 한다면 캣츠는 실제 배우들의 춤, 연기 조금 더 아날로그한 뮤지컬의 맛을 볼 수 있다.

We weren't sure if CATS would be worth it since that was after we saw the best musical "The Lion King".

We'd say the lion king has the best stages, but the actors of CATS make the stage more exciting by themselves more like street musical. 

So they are different.

나의 평점은 ★★★★★+ 5점+ (제돈주고서라도 꼭 봐야하는 뮤지컬)

남편의 평점은 100+

My rating is 5 plus out of 5 (You have to see even without lottery.)

His rating is 100+ lol.

뮤지컬 볼 때 남편이 내 모자를 가지고 있었는데 내가 손에 들고 있겠다는 걸 그냥 좌석에다 뒀다가 호텔에 돌아가서야 잃어버린 걸 알았다.

캣츠에 전화해서 모자를 놓고온 위치를 정확하게 말씀드리고 분실물을 찾을 수 있냐니깐 지금은 청소 중이라서 번호 남기면 전화준다해서 남겼다. 

그리고 2시간 반 뒤에 다시 연락하니까 번호 알고 있다면서 ^^ 약간 짜증을 내셨다.

결국은 캣츠로부터 전화는 절대 오지 않았고 그 다음날 실낱같은 희망으로 뮤지컬 극장에 찾아갔는데

청소하시는 분께 모자 찾으러 왔다니까 바로 "아 그 플러피햇?" 이라고 바로 알아채시더라.

이미 찾아놓고도 전화도 안해주고 속이 엄청 상해서 속으로 혹시 의무 보관기간이 지나길 바란건 아닌가란 생각까지 들었다. ㅠㅠ

아무튼 되찾아서 정말 다행이었고 만약 나처럼 극장에서 잃어버린 물건이 있다면 꼭 직접 가보기를 강력 추천한다.

He had my hat while watching the musical and I told him to hand me the hat. He refused and just put the hat on the other seat.

Back at the hotel, we realized that we left the hat. He called the theater and told them exactly where we left it.

They said they are cleaning right now, so if we leave our phone number they will call us back.

Even after 2 and a half hours they didn't call us back and my husband called them again.

They sounded a little annoyed saying they know our number.

Eventually they never called us back. We had to go back to the theater next day with little hope.

We told the cleaning lady that we are here for our lost hat. She instantly recognized what hat it was. "Oh, the floppy hat?"

They didn't call us back even after they found. I was so upset. Fortunately we found our hat though.

If you lose your stuff at the theater, I highly recommend that you go there and ask in person.

잃어버린 모자 때문에 엄청나게 상심한 상태에서 토토 라멘으로 저녁을 먹으러 갔다.

남편은 일본라멘을 처음 먹어보는 거였고 토토라멘은 약간 미국식화 된 일본라멘집이라고 해서 미국인인 남편 입맛에 잘 맞을 것 같았다.

I was so upset about my hat after that because I really loved the hat. We just went to have dinner.

I wanted to take my husband to Totto ramen because this restaurant is known as an american style japanese restaurant.

So I thought it would be perfect for him to try it for his first time.

첫번째 사진은 남편이 시킨 건 스파이시 파이탄 라면,

두번째는 내가 주문한 스파이시 미소라멘에 돼지고기 토핑을 올렸다.

The first picture is spicy paitan ramen that he ordered.

Second one is my spicy miso ramen with pork toppings.

내껀 보기엔 남편꺼보다 덜 매워보이지만 아예 핫 소스가 별도로 나온다.

그걸 다 부우면 꽤나 매콤하게 즐길 수 있는 라면이었다.

Mine might look less hot than my husband's.

But they serve you the spicy hot sauce separately.

So you can control the hotness and once you pour it all it tastes pretty hot. 

돼지고기 토핑은 생각보다 별로였고 느끼했다.

다음에 간다해도 토핑은 얹지 않을 거다.

But I didn't like the pork toppings. They were just too rich and greasy.

I wouldn't add the toppings on my next visit.

그걸 제외하면 진짜 깊고 맛있는 일본라멘을 먹을 수 있어서 국물까지 다 먹었고,

남편도 파이탄라면 맛있다면서 잘 먹었다.

Besides that, the ramen tasted so deep that I finished the broth.

My husband liked his ramen too.

뉴욕 경찰들도 무리지어 와서 먹는 걸 보니 뉴욕로컬에게도 맛집이라는 생각이 들었다.

Even NYPDs were there so I guess the restaurant is popular with the locals too.

다만 현금으로만 결제할 수 있다는게 흠이었다.

The only bad thing was that you can only pay with cash.

우리 평점은 4점 ★★★★☆
