3N4D New York Trip DAY 3 | 3박4일 뉴욕여행 3일차

Grand Central Terminal, Magnolia banana pudding, Gantry plaza park

뉴욕 그랜드 센트럴 터미널, 매그놀리아 바나나푸딩, 갠트리파크 야경

 토토라멘에서 점저를 떼운 뒤, 그랜드센트럴 터미널로 발걸음을 재촉했다.

비가 잠깐 왔다 그쳐서 실내에 머물며 이후 날씨를 보는 게 나을 것 같다는 판단에서다.

 After we satisfied our hunger at Totto ramen, we headed to Grand Central Terminal.

Since it rained earlier, we were unsure if it would rain again or not so it was better to stay inside.

  입구를 통해 들어가면 벌써부터 이렇게 멋진 통로가 있다. 여기를 지나가면 그 유명한 그랜드센트럴터미널 광장이 나온다.

 Once you pass the entrance, you see this magnificent ramp connected to the main square.

 체감상 터미널 이용객 50%, 관광객 50% 정도 되는 것 같았다. ㅎㅎ

터미널이 이렇게 근사할 수 있다니, 마치 영화 속 한장면에 들어와있는 듯 했다.

 It seemed like half of the people were actual users and half of them were tourists.

 The terminal made me feel like I was in a movie.

 천장에 별자리 그림들이 있고 또 별처럼 반짝반짝하게 꾸며놓았다.

 The ceiling was decorated with constellation paintings with sparkling things.

 나도 뉴욕에 와서 그랜드센트럴터미널에 왔다는 기록을 사진으로 남겨본다.

추억을 되새길 때 사진만큼 좋은 것도 없다. 다시 뉴욕여행 사진들을 들여다보면 감회가 새롭다.

 I took a picture of myself to cherish this moment.

뉴욕 그랜드센트럴터미널에 온 또 다른 이유는 바로 매그놀리아 바나나푸딩을 먹기 위해서다.

광장 아래층에는 푸드코드들이 몰려있는데 거기에 매그놀리아도 있다.

 Another reason why we went to the terminal was to try Magnolia's banana pudding.

On the basement floor, there was a food court. The Magnolia was there.

 

 로고가 굉장히 희미해서 '대체 매그놀리아가 어디있는거야?' 하고 두리번대다가 남편이 찾아줬다.

 Their sign was so discreet, I was looking around for the bakery and my husband found it.

 이미 진열대에는 몇몇개의 컵케익들만 남아있었다.

인기가 대단한 모양이다.

 Only a few cupcakes were left.

뉴욕여행에서 어딜 가던 마더스데이 선물이 진열되어 있었다.

이거는 마더스데이 선물용 컵케익과 케익 한판. 

 We found mother's day gift boxes everywhere on the trip.

 줄을 서서 고른 디저트를 종업원에게 말하면 계산하고 꺼내어준다.

우리는 둘이 나누어 먹을거라서 라지를 시키려고 했는데 다 떨어져서 하는 수 없이 스몰 사이즈로 먼저 먹어보기로 했다.

 You wait in line and tell the cashier what you want.

We were going to order a large banana pudding but they were all sold out, so we tried a small size one instead.

 푸드코트 테이블에 앉아서 처음으로 매그놀리아 바나나푸딩을 먹어봤다.

이제는 한국에도 매그놀리아 매장이 있을 정도로 바나나푸딩으로 유명해진 베이커리.

 There were tables in the food court and we tried the pudding.

Magnolia got popular with koreans for the banana pudding and they opened their bakery in Korea now.

과연 그 맛은?

엄-청 달지 않지만 적당한 단맛에 바나나 조각도 씹히면서 푸딩과 머핀빵?이 적절히 섞인 맛.

 It was not too sweet. It has banana chunks and the muffin bread and cream were mixed very well.

남편은 또 최고의 바나나 푸딩이라고 극찬하며 시엄마가 엄청 좋아할 거라고 했다.

음식이 상하지 않으면 포장하여 선물할텐데 아쉬움이 남았다.

 My husband said this is the best banana pudding and his mother would like this too.

I wished I could have packed the pudding for them to try :(

내 평점은 4.5점

남편의 평점은 100점 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 자꾸 점수 초과하네 이 아저씨.

 My rating is 4.5 out of 5.

His rating is 100. (He keeps exceeding the rating limit. ㅡㅡ)

 날씨가 개어서 갠트리파크에 야경을 보러갈 수 있게 되었다.
그랜드센트럴터미널에서 갠트리파크까지 한번에 가는 지하철이 있어서 딱이었다.

 The weather became clear so we could go see the night view at Gantry Park.

There was a direct subway from the terminal as well.

 지하철에서 내려 약 5분간 걷다보면 갠트리파크가 나온다.

강가라 그런지 바람이 세차게 불고 좀 많이 쌀쌀했다.

 You can see Gantry park after walking 5 minutes from the subway station.

It was even chillier by the river.

여기 오고 싶은 분들은 꼭 여분의 자켓 필수로 들고 가야할 듯!

 You need to take your jacket if you wanna go there.

 날씨가 화창하진 않았지만 또 그런대로 멋진 뷰.

 The weather was not perfect but it still looked cool.

  뉴욕 맨하탄에서 갠트리파크를 내려다볼때 보이는 일종의 랜드마크 간판, 펩시콜라.

 This sign is a landmark and you can see this from Manhattan.

  여기 보이는 다리는 Ed koch Queensboro bridge라고 한다.

 The bridge is Ed koch Queensboro.

 뉴욕의 빌딩숲 전경이 한 눈에 펼쳐지는 야경을 볼 수 있다.

모든 사람들이 손에 꼽을 정도로 유명한 야경명소는 아니어도 갠트리파크는 한번쯤 가볼만한 곳이라고 생각한다.

 You can see Manhattan skyline from Gantry park.

 This place isn't known as the most popular night view place, but I think the place is great for it.

 갠트리파크를 지나는 페리도 있었다. 사실 우리도 페리를 탈 수 있을까 기대했는데, 갠트리파크에는 폐선착장밖에 없었다.

그 말인 즉슨 여기서는 탈 수 없다는 얘기.

 There was a ferry passing Gantry park. Actually we looked forward to riding a ferry here.

There was only a closed ferry pier.

Sight Seeing Cruises 를 구글에 검색하면 다양한 경로로 크루즈를 타고 뉴욕여행을 할 수 있다.

우리도 한번 신청해볼 걸 내심 아쉬웠다.

 If you google Sight seeing Cruises, you can choose so many cruise paths.

We should have applied for one though.

 

남편은 뷰가 멋지다며 시부모님과 영상통화를 하기도 했다 :)

 My husband liked the view and tried facetiming with his parents.

 또 다시 비가 오기 시작하여 급하게 발걸음을 되돌린다.

 It started raining again, we left for the subway station.
