3N4D New York Trip Day 3 | 3박4일 뉴욕여행기 3일차
TOP OF THE ROCK 뉴욕 야경 명소 록펠러센터 전망대, 탑오브더락
우리가 뉴욕여행 가기 전 부터 가장 고대했던 거는 다름아닌 뉴욕 야경보기였다.
남편이 야경은 무조건 탑오브더락이라면서 열변을 토하길래, 엠파이어빌딩 대신 탑오브더락을 선택하게 되었다.
We had looked forward to looking at the skyline from Top of the Rock the most, even before our trip.
My husband insisted that we choose Top of the rock over Empire building.
탑오브더락은 록펠러센터에 있는 전망대로 엠파이어빌딩까지 볼 수 있다.
지하로 내려가면 표를 살 수 있는 창구가 있다.
Top of the rock is an observatory of Rockefeller's tower which you can see the empire state building from.
There are ticket counters on the ground floor.
저 검정 벽에 엘리베이터 두대를 이용하여 전망대 검문층까지 올라간다.
엘리베이터 운행 시간이 정해져있어서 티켓에 쓰여진 시간을 보고 시간이 남았다면 어디선가 시간을 떼우고 이 곳으로 돌아와야 한다.
There are two elevators in the black wall that take you up to the security checkpoints floor.
You have to check the time on your ticket and waste some time somewhere until the time comes and then come back here.
지하층 엘리베이터를 타고 올라오는 이곳은 검문층.
공항에서 소지품 검사하듯이 보안검색대에 자기 소지품을 다 스캔받은 후에 입장할 수 있다.
This is what you see after the security check points.
All your belongings have to be scanned just like how airport securities do.
탑오브더락을 지은 노동자들 모습인 듯 하다. 진짜 주인공인 노동자들 사진을 배치하여 노동의 가치를 가벼이 여기지 않는다는 느낌을 받았다.
They are the builders. I noticed that Rockfeller center didn't treat labor lightly by placing the picture of the real heroes.
스크린에 록펠러센터에서 촬영했던 프로그램들, 유명인사들, 록펠러 인터뷰 등이 상영된다.
On the screens, popular shows filmed in the building, celebrities, and Rockefeller's interview are being shown.
엘리베이터 수용인원만큼 끊어 그룹형식으로 전망대로 가는 엘리베이터에 탑승한다.
They group a certain amount of people together and take you to the elevator.
엘리베이터를 타면 천장에 또한번 록펠러 관련 영상들이 상영된다. 엄청 빠르게 올라가기 때문에 귀가 멍멍해지기도 했다.
In the elevator the history of top of the rock is played on the ceiling. Sometimes my ears popped up since the elevator went up so fast.
그리하여 도착한 탑오브더락, 뉴욕 록펠러센터 야경 전망대.
유리창으로 둘러쌓여 있는데, 중간 중간 틈 사이로 렌즈를 내밀어 사진을 찍어야 좋은 사진을 건질 수 있다.
비가 개어서 다행이도 맑은 날씨를 볼 수 있었다.
Finally we got to the best observatory, Top of the rock.
It's covered with glass walls but there are gaps between walls.
If you want good pictures, then you need to stick your camera lens between the glass.
The view was clear.

옥상전망대가 있어서 계단으로 한 층 더 올라가면 유리보호창 너머 실제 야경을 한 눈에 담을 수 있다.

You can take stairs to the top floor then the view is clearer without the glass walls.
뉴욕의 가장 높은 아파트라던 432 파크 애비뉴도 정말 가까이 보인다.
You can see the tallest residential building, 432 Park Ave. so close.

너무너무 아름다웠다.
The skylines were so beautiful.
5월초 아직은 조금 쌀쌀한 날씨였는데 역시 높은 빌딩위에 올라오니까 바람이 장난이 아니었다.
어두운 밤에 삼각대 없이 선명한 사진을 찍기란 정말 어려운 일이지만, 흔들린 사진 나름대로 그 느낌이 있다.
(탑오브더락 홈페이지에 보면 삼각대는 반입금지라고 나와있다.)
그 당시 사진에 담긴 내 표정을 보면 내가 뉴욕에서 행복했었구나라는게 여실히 느껴진다.
We were in New York in early May, and it was chilly.
It was super windy on the top floor.
It was so hard to take clear pictures without a tripod.
The blurry pictures are still good and and I can tell that I was so happy.
(* You are not allowed to bring tripods to Top of the rock anyways)

비싼 티켓 구입하여 올라간 전망대지만 너무 추워서 채 20분을 못버티고 내려오게 된다.
탑오브더락전망대에는 기념품 샵도 있어서 열쇠고리랑 뱃지를 구입하고 내려왔다.
The tickets weren't very cheap. It was too cold and we couldn't stay there any longer.
I bought a NEWYORK key chain and badge at the gift shop and left.

겨울에는 아이스링크장으로 사용된다는 장소.
The place is used as an ice rink in winter.
아직도 뉴욕 야경 사진들을 보면 설렌다. 내가 이 곳에 다녀왔다는게 실감나지 않는다.
그정도로 너무 꿈같았던 곳. 뉴욕 야경 베스트 장소 탑오브더락 강력추천한다.
