시월 마지막 날, 바람이 정말 많이 불었던 날에 로우스를 갔는데 떨이로 파는 식물들이 있었다. 저 분홍색 국화는 한 포트에 25센트 주고 샀다. 엄청나게 긴 시간은 아니었지만 내 빈 화단을 채워줬다. 내가 정말 가지고 싶었던 수선화 아이스킹과 키작은 붓꽃 레티큘라타도 발견해서 내 화단에 심어줬다. 내년 봄이 기대 됨! 저 뒤에 알리움은 대형 알리움은 아니고 퍼플센세이션이라고 중형 사이즈인데 뒷마당 벚꽃 나무에 원형으로 심어주었다.
Last day of October we went to Lowe's. They were having a great bargain. The pink mums were at only 25cents. They were planted in my flower bed for a couple of weeks. I found Daffodil -Ice King- I really wanted! I planted it with the dwarf iris. The aliium in the back isn't very huge. I planted the bulbs around my cherry tree in my back yard.
11월 2일, 이 날 아침이 무척 추웠다. 처음 서리 내린 날이었는데 이 날이 지나자 푸릇했던 잔디들이 바로 황금빛으로 바뀌었다. 근데 또 11월이 거의 끝나가는 지금은 그렇게 춥진 않다.
On Nov, 2nd, it was first frost this year. After this day, my lawn turned all golden brown.
벨라는 내가 소파에 앉아있으면 자기도 꼭 와서 소파 한자리를 차지하는데 그 중에서도 이 자리를 제일 좋아한다.
Bella wants to sit in the couch when I am sitting there. She loves this spot particulary.
날씨 좋은 토요일, 스카일러랑 데이트 하러 나왔다. 헌츠빌 독일 음식점인 Hildegard's German Cuisine. 우리 둘 다 슈니첼을 시켰다. 스카일러는 자기꺼 정말 맛있다고 했는데, 나는 기대보다 별로였다고 그랬더니 나중에는 은근슬쩍 자기도 엄청 좋진 않았다면서 의견을 바꾸었다. 약간 팔랑귀 재질..? 나는 여기보다 채터누가 독일 음식점이 훨씬 훨씬 좋았다!
On this sunny Saturday, Me and Skylar ate out at this german restaurant in Huntsville. We both ordered Schnitzel. Skylar said he really liked his. I told him this place didn't live up to my expectations. Later on, Skylar sneakily changed his opinion saying it wasn't that great. He doesn't realize that he always follows my opinion at the end lol. I loved the german restaurant in Chattanooga much better!
헌츠빌같은 이 미국 시골에서 영화관에서 한국 영화를 보는 날이 다 오다니...? 거의 끝물이었던 기생충을 영화 시간표에서 발견하고 얼마나 기뻤는지!! 의외로 나만 한국인이었고 다 서양인들이었는데, 오랜만에 한국어로 영화를 보니 한국 온 기분도 들고 새로웠다. 영화도 너무 만족이었고 스카일러도 최애 영화가 될 것 같다고 했다.
I was so happy to see a Korean movie here in Alabama. We found the movie -Parasite- being shown at this AMC. I was the only Korean in the theater. It felt amazing to understand a movie in my own language. For the first time, I felt like I was in Korean movie theaters. The movie was so good as well. He said this movie would be one of his favorite ones.
영화 보고 코스트코 간 날. 딸기 시럽이 아주 혜자였음. 핫도그도 정말 맛있었다.
After the movie, we went to Costco in Huntsville. The strawberry topping was so good! Their hotdog was good too.
헌츠빌 코스트코 쇼핑샷. 이 곳에서 감을 처음으로 발견해서 사봄. 괜찮았다. 포인세티아도 구입해서 화단에 심어봤다.
We ended up spending $400 again at Costco.... I found persimoons for the first time in Alabama. I bought the big potted Poinsettia.
포인세티아의 붉은 잎사귀가 존재감 뿜뿜 사이즈도 어찌나 크던지...
And I planted the Poinsettia in the ground.
과일이랑 과자 정리할 선반을 구입했는데 아주 마음에 든다.
I bought this shelf to organize fruits and snacks. I really like it.
스카일러가 아주 오랜만에 김밥 만들어줬다. 맛은 그렇게 있진 않았지만 성의를 생각해서 다 먹어줬다. ㅋㅋ
Skylar made Gimbap for me. I can't say it was the best but I ate it all for him.
수국 잎사귀가 다 떨어져있어서 썩고 있는 걸 정리해주었다.
My limelight was going dormant in Winter. Most leaves were fell down. I picked them up and trimmed some dead leaves.
목단은 겨울인데도 계속 계속 자란다. 앨라배마 주 겨울이 그렇게 매섭게 춥진 않은 것 같다. 꽃봉오리가 벌써 4개나 달렸다.
My tree peony seems to keep growing even in this weather. It has 4 flower buds already!
크리스마스가 벌써 딱 한달 남았다. 우리 동네에도 사람들이 벌써 집 안에 트리를 들여놓고 꾸민 걸 창을 통해 뽐내고 있는데, 나는 그냥 우리 화단에 있는 회양목이랑 나무를 이용해서 간단하게나마 꾸며봤다. 실제로 밤에 보면 너무 예뻐서 만족스럽다.ㅋㅋ 이것도 내가 좋아하는 태양열 전구인데, 단점은 하루가 흐리면 충전이 덜 돼서 밝게 안빛나지만, 대부분의 날은 맑기 때문에 괜히 전기세 아낀단 생각에 뿌듯해진다.
There is only one month left to Christmas. Our neighbors already decorated their christmas tree inside and showing it off through their windows. I just simply decorated outdoor trees with light bulbs. I am quite happy with how it came out together. These light bulbs are solar light bulbs of course. When the weather is cloudy, it doesn't charge very well and looks dull at night. But here the weather is mostly sunny. It makes me feel so proud of myself being frugal!! (LOL)
