ⅰ영구영주권 갱신 Permenant Residency

그동안 지니고 있었던 임시영주권이 2020년 1월에 만료되어, 갱신하라는 편지를 받았다. 이번 영구영주권은 10년치이기 때문에 요구하는 서류가 꽤나 되었다. 이게 통과되면 한동안은 서류 작업 안해도 되겠지? 피앙세 비자부터 시작해서 이민 서류작업이 보통일이 아니었다. 신청 후 한 2주도 채 되지 않아 수수료가 빠져나갔음을 확인했다. 그 뜻은 기본적인 필요 서류가 다 갖춰졌기 때문에 본격적으로 검토 작업으로 넘어가겠다는 뜻! 아니나 다를까, 곧바로 임시영주권 연장 관련한 편지가 왔다. 검토하는 기간(최대 1년 반) 동안 임시영주권(과 워킹퍼밋)의 유효기간을 연장해준다는 증명서였다. 미국 앨라배마 주에서 운전면허증 기간이 임영권 기간과 일치해서 현재는 내 면허증도 만료된 상태이다. 하루 빨리 영구영주권이 발급되어서 그걸 토대로 운전면허증도 갱신하고 싶다.

I got a permanat residency renewal notice from immigrant because the original one was conditioned. It was supposed to expire in January, 2020. This greencard will last for 10 years. Hopefully we won't need to do paperworks for its renewal for one decade at least. Soon after I sent out the form with important documents, the application fee was withdrown from our bank. Which confirms that we sent every essential document they requested and now they will be working on reviewing them. I got another letter from them. It was a document that extends my conditional permenant residency upto one and a half years until they finish reviewing my case. My driver's license expires on the same day as my greencard's expiration date. I hope I get my next greencard soon, and renew my driver's license with it as well.

ⅱ 크리스마스 전등축제 Festivals of Christmas Lights

내 생일 기념으로 시댁식구들과 타이맛집인 Kati Thai 에서 식사하기로 했다. 마침 맞은 편 노카룰라 폭포에서 크리스마스 전등 축제를 하고 있어서 밥을 먹고 구경하러 가기로 했다. 해가 지날 수록 어째 사람들이 점점 더 많아지는 느낌이다. 저번에 방문한 것과 큰 차이는 없었지만, 내 생일 날 이렇게 함께 할 수 있는 가족들이 있어서 좋았다. 그리고 그 다음 주말에는 헌츠빌 식물원에서 열린 Galaxy of Lights 라는 드라이브 쓰루 전등축제에도 갔다. 차 한대 당 요금을 부과하기 때문에 인당 받았던 노칼룰라 보다 4명 이상일 경우 더 저렴했다. 또 걷지 않고 차 안에서 구경하기 때문에 조용하고 편리했다. 처음이라 걱정했는데, 아주 만족스러웠다. 시부모님도 아주 좋아했다. 내년에는 조금 더 먼 곳으로 가보고 싶다. 아무래도 그 전에 많이 방문했던 곳이라 그런지 락시티가 바로 떠올랐다.

Me and my in laws had a dinner at my favorite restaurant, Kati Thai for my 30th birthday. Noccallula falls is right across from the restaurant. We decided to check out the Christmas lights there too. There was nothing new to me since I had been there for christmas lights a few times before but there were much more people this time! I did enjoy seeing the lights with my family in law. The next weekend, Me, Skylar and my parents in law went to Galaxy of Lights at Huntsville botanical garden. It's a drive thru. You can stay warm in your car enjoying pretty lights. I was little nervous about it but it worked out. I would like to go to a bigger Christmas lights fetival next year. A first thought I had was Rock City. I went there many times but I don't think my in laws had been to its christmas lights for a while.

ⅲ 새로 산 위시본체어 New Chair

지금 식탁은 최대 6인용으로 쓰일 수 있는데 기존에는 의자를 4개 두었다. 그러다 위시본 체어가 가지고 싶어서 골랐는데 색깔이나 퀄리티가 마음에 쏙 든다! 진작에 위시본으로 다 통일했어야하나라는 아쉬움까지 남았을 정도. 다만 생각치도 못한 단점이라면; 벨라가 저 의자 앉는 부분 재질을 좋아한다. 딱보니까 스크래처랑 비슷하지 않나? 벨라가 각잡고 스크래치 하려고 하면 달려가서 막아줘야한다. ㅜㅜ

My dining table is for upto 6 people. I originally had 4 chairs. I had been wanting a Wishbone chair for a long time. (The chair's back looks similar to turkey's wishbone chair.) I am happy with the color and the quality. I almost regretted not buying this chair for the table in the first place. The only downside I didn't think about was that the sitting part is material Bella loves to scratch. I have stopped Bella from scratching it many times.

ⅳ 보안카메라 설치 Installing a security camera

우리가 사는 구역은 정말 최근에 개발된 곳이라 모든 집이 신식이다. 거기다 이웃집 두 집은 경찰 가족들이 살고 있어서 안전한 동네에 산다는 것은 장담한다. 그럼에도 보안카메라가 있었으면 하는 바람은 사그러들지 않았다. 아무래도 우리가 여행을 자주 가기도 해서 그럴 때 원격으로 체크할 수 있었으면 했기 때문이다. 그래서 드디어 구매한 Heimlife의 보안카메라. 집 외관 벽에 3M 양면스티커를 사용해 붙이고, 카메라 홀더가 강력한 자석이라서 카메라를 원하는 각도로 맞추기만 하면 설치 끝이다! 나중에 태양광을 설치해서 자동 충전이 되게 하고 싶지만 일단 이 정도로도 아주 만족스럽다. 센서가 있어서 우리 집 마당 가까이 다가오면 핸드폰으로 알림이 옴과 동시에 내장된 SD카드에 촬영이 기록된다. 배터리는 8시간 충전해두면 보통 4개월 정도 간다고 한다.

Our neighborhood is new and every house on our street was newly built. We have two different police officers living on the street so I feel safe. I still wanted a security camera that I can watch who comes upto our front porch especially while we are away home. We bought this camera from Heimlife. Turns out it was the same company as our pet camera's. It was super easy to install. Use a 3M double-sided sticker to attach the holder to outside wall. The holder is magnetic so I can place the camera on the holder and adjust angle. It has a sensitive sensor. When someone approach to our porch, it starts recording as it sends me a notification to my phone. I can always go back to watch records. Once I charge it for 8 hours, it can last about 4 months.

ⅴ 내 인생 처음 턴테이블 My first turntable

요즘 6달러 스토어라고 아마존 배송 중에 환불이나 교환하다가 놓친 물품들을 저렴한 값에 되파는 곳인데 시어머니가 이 곳에서 턴테이블을 발견하고는 날 위해 사주셨다. 그 전에 한 번도 턴테이블을 사용해본 적이 없어서 마냥 신기했다. 나도 전에 6달러 스토어에서 뮤지컬 위키드 레코드 판을 사놨어서 바로 재생해봤는데 너무 신기하고 좋았다 :)

There are stores that resell Amazon items that were to be returned or exchanged and lost along the way at 6 dollars. My mother in law found a turntable and bought it for me. I never had one before. I was so excited to have one. I bought a Wicked record at that kind of store before so as I got the turntable I played the record. I absoutely loved it.
